I saw this story yesterday and thought it was a joke. I never realized that there were still self service laws anywhere let alone two states.
Then I read some of the comments and I'm shocked at how much trouble this will create for some. I've managed to pump gas my entire life and not killed anyone nor myself and haven't spilled gas all over myself either. So I think they can figure it out. We had a gas station where I grew up that I vaguely remember being full service and kinda wish it still was with the temps the last couple weeks.

there are a few gas stations here that are full service, usually in the rural communities around my city and a couple in town but I never go to any of them because my gas flap thing is broken and can’t open by the button or with your hand so I use my key. This one time I made the mistake of going to a full service and I literally got out of my car to open the flap and then went back into my car. Very awkward
I was wrong about Jamie he is a true visionary and I name him my successor |

I saw this title and my heart sank. I thought she had died and FE would no longer be the same.
Read the OP and I got happy to know that I still get to see Buffy.
I also haven't seen a full service gas station since the 80s |
You've never driven to NYC through NJ?

You've clearly never really been to NYC then. There is literally something for everyone in NYC, even if you hate everything.

Been twice. I hate big cities. Not my thing. I prefer the clean air of country life. It's quiet and there aren't many people to piss me off. There is literally nothing about NYC that makes me want to visit again. |

There was a bondage restaurant that you could order stuff off the menu, like waitresses making your dinner companion have to eat out of a dog dish on the floor. You and the wife would love it.
But seriously- I can show even country bumpkins a good time in NYC. We could also lose your kids in Central Park.

Though I go through the Holland Tunnel, so that wouldn't work.

A friend of mine lost his dad about 15 years ago, and we had to teach his mom how to pump gas. His dad had always done it for her after they got rid of the full service stations.

Seriously? I love NYC!
And guys, people in Oregon know how to pump gas, we're just not allowed to. I've actually done it a lot while driving in Washington State (and people from Portland live right across the Washington border so it's common to drive to Vancouver, WA or Seattle, WA, etc), but I'm fine with not having to do it right now.

Any town with more than about 20,000 people is too big for me. OK to visit, but claustrophobia sets in after about 2 days.

With modern transportation, there's no reason for people to be all crammed together like that.
