I've been watching them in order and I was almost about to quit during S2. I'm glad I did not bc I really liked S3.

Season 1: Fifteen Million Merits > The National Anthem > Entire History of You Spoiler + All these are rather strong. Fifteen Million Merits may be one of my favorites of the series, it's so well done cinematicaly, with the world they built, and the story. The later two are pretty much on the same level, I could see them being equal and changing them. Season 2: White Christmas > White Bear > Waldo > BRB Spoiler + Assuming WC is S2 its at the top. Insane concept that makes the best use out of the cookie in the series. White Bear's concept is insanely well done. The twist is beautifully well executed and unexpected. Lots of action keeps it pretty interesting even when you think it will be lackluster. Waldo is a hidden gem of the series and criminally underrated. I think it foreshadows Trump/Russia's meddling in elections beautifully. Very strong message. BRB was incredibly boring. The concept is kinda interesting but it's just not super compelling to me. Season 3: Shut Up and Dance > Playtest > Nosedive > Hated in the Nation > Men Against Fire > San Junipero Spoiler + Shut Up easily by far and away the best in the season. Such a dark and well executed concept that you can totally see being believable and even happening in present day. It continues to be intense and the ending is heart wrenching. Playtest is ok, the concept is well executed and pretty interesting. Nosedive I put higher than I thought, I think the concept was really well executed but the last quarter of the episode was kinda bad. Hated in the Nation and Men Against Fire are really similar to me. Hated edges it out as being slightly more interesting/more of an innovative concept. Mean Against Fire it was really easy to figure out the twist, even when I was hammered. And it ended up being a pretty boring episode. San Junipero is what I hated the most, just a shitty love story. I could see it being better than Hated/Fire, they are all pretty mediocre.

Season 4:

Hang the DJ > Black Museum > Archangel > USS Callister > Crocodile > Metalhead

Hang the DJ/Black Museum are pretty interchangeable and close to being even. They both are unique in they break the Black Mirror format in having seemingly happy endings with darkness interviewed within the concept. Like in Hang the DJ it's super fucked up that the Cookies suffer for years and years and years in shitty non-relationships in that world. When they ultimately break out/find love they are essentially deleted. All to serve the purpose of the dating program user. The twist I never expected at the end so it was pretty good. Black Museum is more straightforward in the darkness department. But I enjoyed the "clip show" element of having 3 different stories in there and they were all pretty engaging. Archangel I really enjoyed the concept. Execution could have been much better though, the ending was a little loose and could have been darker/went deeper. Like make the chic get addicted to drugs and have her kill her mom at the end there. They went for a half measure which sucked. U.S.S. Callister was a fun ride, just a huge copout in the ending. Cinematically its well done and it's an easy watch, just not the most engaging episode. Crocodile/Metalhead are terrible and unwatchable. Crocodile edges it out because it has a barely engaging plot with some shit that happens while Metalhead is dull as fuck and is completely leaning on the location/robot soldier. It's story is pretty much a non-story. Edges it out over S3 for me.

I appreciate these lists. I will be watching a few of these. I watched San Junipero last night. It was my first time ever watching Black Mirror. I chose one of the two that had won or been nominated for awards. I'm going to save USS Callister for a little bit later, so I'll pick a few of the higher ranked episodes from here and the ones that looked interesting to me.

San Junipero prob loses some of its effect watching it first tbh. Most episodes are super bleak but Junipero was a surprisingly uplifting one in comparison which helped make it stand out
