It's actually probably technically a type of bread in certain circumstances.
Olive bread is a type of bread, but it's not natural.
If the garlic salt, etc is baked into the bread, then it's a type of bread.
Buttered bread is not a type of bread. It's just bread with butter on it.

It's butter and garlic and a hotdog bun in the oven. :P If the butter and garlic were on the hotdog bun, it'd be garlic bread. A hotdog bun is a type of bread, though a hotdog is not a sandwich.

Whatever base bread you use is the actual type of bread. Adding the garlic salt and everything else makes it better bread. Yes, so Rose is correct.

Exactly.

If you make garlic bread with a hot dog bun, the bread is a hot dog bun.

If you make garlic bread with a bagel, then the bread is still the bagel.

Unless the garlic and butter is incorporated into the dough used to make the bread, then garlic bread is not a type of bread.

I mean it's a strict dictionary definition to a general feeling.

Like by definition a hotdog is a sandwhich. By definition garlic bread is ____ bread with garlic and butter.

But a hot dog is treated as something different, and garlic bread is treated a bread.
