Finally got around to playing this and honestly...not that bad! Obviously there was no emotional connection to the story or characters whatsoever, but I went in with very low expectations and came out glad I played. I think the idea was cool - showing individual stories of people who end up becoming one of the many groups out there. And then showing how that group ends up joining a large community. Pretty fun
It almost felt like spare ideas that the writers couldn't really fit anywhere into the main stories so they gave those choices to these characters instead. I'd have liked a few of them to be bigger assholes/villains and give the unique choices that comes with villain characters to them since they can't really do that to Lee/Clem/Javi
I do wish I played between S1 and S2 now. I read the cameos in S2 and they were obviously disappointing, but if I had played without being hyped about the cameos then it would've been a fun moment to see those characters in S2. And it's cool knowing that the group Tavia brings them to is Carver's group of assholes, it's kinda sad

Left Nate: Did you leave Nate or stay with him? (Russell's story)

Liar: Did you lie to Leland? (Bonnie's story)

Killed Stephanie?: Did you leave in the RV or kill Stephanie? (Shel's story)
Killed Stephanie - 25%
Only one that took a whole lot of thought was Shel's. I thought she was a little too soft and I had no attachment to Stephanie whatsoever and she did take almost all of our shit, so I said FUCK IT! Time for Shel to become a little more hardened. I'd never have made that choice as Lee or Clem or Javi tho
Only Bonnie and Wyatt came with me :(
What other connections are there to S1/2? I know you can come across Doug or Carley's body, I'm guessing if you hide from the incoming truck, so I never saw it. I also had to randomized my S1 choices since I don't have a S1 save on this computer so it would've been a bit strange if it ended up being Doug
I also liked the many connections between all five stories with each other. Like the prisoner you left behind crawling up on Russell or the blood stain at the diner from the old couple. Some of them seem pretty subtle, any other fun ones?? |
