Saw it earlier tonight, thought it was real good. It wasn't perfect but it was a very refreshing, gritty take (ala TDK trilogy) on a genre that's getting pretty tired. Probably a top 5 comic movie for me

The only real problem I had with it is I didn't think the kids at the end were necessary. That was the only time where it felt like they were just trying to set up the future of the franchise rather than serving much purpose in the movie itself. I feel like the ending would've been a whole lot more poignant if it was just Logan and Laura vs everyone else, then ends with Laura walking off towards Eden alone. KINDA LIKE TWD S2! I also don't really get HOW they were alive? The nurse saved Laura, so who saved the rest of them? I thought they were shown in the video getting killed, unless that was just other kids? That confused me
There was also some overly-expository dialogue that bothered me (e.g. "You drank all the medicine! But now it's losing its effect!") but meh
Other than that though I really liked it. Laura was really great, she stole the movie even without talking for over half of it. The robot hand villain was p solid, not the most well-developed (seeing as how I can't even remember his name) but was at least way more interesting/menacing than the average Marvel villain
At the end when Laura pauses at Logan's grave I really thought we were gonna see Logan's hand spring through the rocks as he comes back to life (: God that would've sucked
Also that Deadpool short at the beginning was gr8. Enjoyed that more than the actual Deadpool movie tbh |

I thought it was rly good

All three leads killllllllled it. Jackman is such a good actor. I got Prisoners vibes from him here. Both him and Xavier dying was rly sad. I was a little peeved that the trailer basically gave away Xavier's death
Cart the nurse saved Laura but she said other nurses were trying to save other kids too, she just didn't know how many if any ended up getting out. I actually liked that it wasn't JUST conveniently Wolverine's daughter who got out alive
I liked Merchant's character. I liked the bad guy enough
The slow mo scene in the casino hotel was awesome. I loved the violence. Every time the claws shot through someone's head was so satisfying
Agreed @ top five comic book movie. It didn't feel like the same universe as the previous xmen movies at ALL. X-Men Origins is such a disaster compared to this movie. I hope Marvel movies take note and actually try to start doing something different. I'd agree that it's The Dark Knight of this decade |

Some people I know saw it the other day and said it was boring and shit.
Glad to know that isn't necessarily the case.

Also I rly loved that ending moment. Turning the cross into an X. NICE TOUCH. That and Xavier's grave and Logan's death were all sad. I especially liked Jackman's acting when he tried to eulogize Xavier |

Uhhh I've only seen the first three X-Men movies and the Wolverine origin one. Then they have the new "trilogy" set in the past, I haven't seen any of those. I didn't see the other solo Wolverine one when he goes to Japan(?) either
I'm not an expert on the series but I don't think it's necessary at all to see all of them. I do think it was nice to have grown up a little bit with that first trilogy because it makes the sendoff to Jackman as the character a lot better here since he said he's done playing the role
Basically storywise I really don't think it matters to see previous ones. I keep hearing that the timeline is pretty muddled anyway

You don't need to see all of them.
I just saw Logan tonight. It was really good. Definitely the best Wolverine/X-Men movie. And it felt so different too. Maybe that's why.
I saw no trailers, read no reviews, so I didn't know what to expect.

I didn't know who the girl was until the claws came out --- I know X-23 from the comics. But she killed it! She played that part so well.
