They can, Ironman, Hulk, Cappy Murica and Thor weren't as popular as the X-Men or Spider-Man which Marvel sold the rights when they were broke in the 90s.

I think I read somewhere if they got spiderman they'd just put him in without an origin... Or like a quick flashback sort of thing.

I love the MCU but Spiderman is meh. Rebooting him for an entirely new movie headed by Sony again is even more meh.

I hope they go the Hulk route and just do his origin rapid-fire in the credits...as if nobody already knows what spiderman's origin is.

This is my hope too, we really don't need another origins story. I think they can more than just throw him into an end credits, say maybe Ant-Man so that can set him up in the Civil War movie. Though it's likely he'll be introduced in the Civil War movie.

He's getting a full movie though. It's been slotted into Phase 3.

I'd rather they didn't delay the other movies or release a full on spidey movie tbh.

Yeah that's what I was referring too, he'll likely have his "rushed story" in one of those movies before his solo film. I hate that they're postponing everything else for his story, but since all those movies are so far away from now I'm sure people will get over the change.

hmm

Would they have sold it to FE if we pooled our money and offered them $10?

*I only read the title, not the article

Sony will have final say over casting for the new Spider-Man, and is said to be looking for an actor much younger than Andrew Garfield, who is 31. Sony is looking to go back to "Spidey’s roots and put the character back in high school."

oh great

This is the only way it will be okay. But probably won't happen.

And we thought TWD had too many main characters.
