you can not compare the walking dead to marvel comics that have been around like 50 years

they also don't share the same fame. walking dead became relevant due to the tv show

It was a silly joke comparison my shad. Sry about ur precious F.F.

your other comparison is silly too

I'm not even big on the F.F. but I hate when book to movie or comic to movie make really stupid changes

i have read the comics but this is a reboot set in a different universe than the comics. Sometimes when continuities change so do certain characteristics. Is it really so bad that a white guy is a black guy now? He's going to be fucking Orange for at least half the damn movie.

Prince of Persia starred a white guy. Exodus starred white people. They made Tonto in the new Lone Ranger movie into a white guy. The movie 21 is based on a true story about Asian card counters but the movie stars Jim Strugess... and those are real people not just fiction. There is a white girl playing Tiger Lily in the new Peter Pan movie. How many times have they cast Jesus as a fucking white guy? lol

It would be completely acceptable if it was deemed a different universe. Nick Fury in the comics is known as white in one universe and black in the ultimate.

The problem is when you bring the characters from long running comics to life is ...nobody wants to see an interpretation of their beloved franchise. They don't want a new universe. (Like they do with those Disney Princess movies. They do another take on it or make it darker) Fans of the comics want to see their favorite characters come to life on the big screen the way they actually are from the comic books.

It isn't every day you see live action movies finally get made. And to have one wasted on an alternate universe and depiction of the characters sucks.

You do realise there was already a fantastic four movie exactly how it was in the comics right? 2 of them actually.

Yes, and I enjoyed the second one a lot. But those movies suffered from the writing and get shat on for it. But Marvel movies are getting much better these days so lots of people want a re-do not a re-make

They're making a new one for the same reason that Sony rebooted the spider-man franchise... they had to either make another F4 movie within a certain time frame or the film rights would have gone back to marvel.

Honestly I don't mind as much that F4 is it's own thing... it's possible they could even cross it over with the new X-men universe now that that's sort of rebooted too. Have like a Fox Marvel universe.

Fantastic 4 should not go near X-Men. Mutants are hated remember?

Looking forward to this, looks good from over here but will reserve judgement after seeing it. I read some of the comics and watched the tv-show, enjoyed the previous two movies too. Jessica Alba as Sue Storm ftw.

I don't mind if Human Torch is black, as long as they don't change his personality/character. I'd take more of an issue with it if it's stated that he isn't actually Sue Storm's brother, they have to make them siblings.

I think in certain cases they have to stick with the nationality/race like with Shredder from the Turtles. If he hadn't had any relations to Japan or been a ninja in any way I'm sure there would've been massive issues. That being said, I would've practically fine with a Shredder that hadn't been japanese lol.

It could be like a double standard thing since the F4 weren't born mutants but got powers

Speaking of changes to long-running characters, Apparently Marvel is set to smush their regular and ultimate universes together in May, I think? in their comic book series resulting in a new one called Battleworld, where elements of both will exist. So big changes ahead. Again.
