We have to put up with 2 weeks of this crap in Britain now.

2 weeks of turning on the TV and seeing over hyped 24 hour coverage of boring shit.

Suddenly people are forcing themselves to be interested because it is happening in their country. I see it everywhere.

People flocked to see the Olympic torch come down our street. For all of 10 seconds, a guy ran down past with a stick which was on fire, and everybody cheered like he was carrying the holy grail.

I don't get it :\

The olympics were in georgia in 96 so I guess I get where you're coming from... though I was too young to care about any of it tbh.

Yeah, I couldn't sit through the opening ceremony. I will watch basketball at least. I will stop and watch a few other ones if I catch them on when flipping through channels

Phelps only came in 4th in his first event.

I mostly watch track and field: 100m, 200m, 400m, and 400m relay with the baton and some swimming, oh and women's beach volleyball.

I personally boycott the Olympics, on the grounds that sporting events are like chainsaw juggling: only entertaining when being done badly.
