tbh I haven't liked any of the finales that much. They're usually victim to having to service every major character/plot point and end up being a bit rushed. And other than season 1, they've all exceeded the 60-minute mark, having a bit of extra time doesn't mean that they'll be better paced.
IT DOESN'T HELP that this season hasn't really been building to anything even though it's been filled with great moments and stories.
I mean it makes sense that as the show grows more sprawling it will have to allot its time more selectively. But when I think about how season 1 handled Ned's story and season 2 focused on Stannis' advance as well as Tyrion's controversial role as the Hand of the King, and how p much all of season 3 was pointing in the direction of Robb being far too committed to his sense of justice and personal liberty to succeed in Westeros... and that's not even counting the fact that Dany always had a seasonal arc before this. I dunno I just feel like the only story to advance in season 4 post-Joffrey has been Tyrion and Oberyn

Agreed. I think the finales are sometimes the weakest parts of the season tbh. But that might just be because I expect more from a finale
WITH THAT SAID based on what I know of this one I think it should be the best finale yet. Not saying much but still

Yeah David & Dan said that not only is this not a typical finale (more climax than wrapping up) but they said it's possibly their best episode yet. I hope I'm not overhyped (: But considering the storylines left to be resolved I don't think it'll disappoint

but damn,
not a spoiler but if you're not a book reader, i wouldn't read this until after the episode:
|
that "previously on" segment really spoonfed the show-watchers in some regards. this moment being one of them.

There's a delay between my tv and my parents', so I keep hearing everything repeating from their room like a second after it shows on my tv, but I'm too lazy to close my door.
I'm enjoying these King's Landing scenes.
