I plan on watching The Royal Tenenbaums soon. I really liked Moonrise Kingdom and Grand Budapest Hotel, I assume I should like that. I did see The Darjeeling Limited a long time ago but don't remember much about it, how is that usually ranked among his works? |
Same here. I haven't seen Darjeeling but I think that's usually ranked pretty low among his movies

A bit strange. It kind of just starts, very little exposition. Really cliche too but overall once it gets going it's ok. Certainly not the worst movie to kill some time watching.
I'm about an hour and ten minutes into it now, it's quite the weird movie when it comes to tone/pacing haha. A lot of humor I wasn't expecting.
Main character's name is Curtis FYI
Ok I just finished it and it's pretty good, an ending that annoyed me but hey it set it apart from a great majority of movies.

From top to bottom:
LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring - one of my favorite movies of all time.
Memento - also one of my favorite movies and if you haven't seen it I seriously recommend it.
Harry Potter: Philosopher's Stone - love it.
Ocean's Eleven - great film.
Shrek - I like it, great animated feature.
Monsters Inc - same as the above.
Pearl Harbor - I have only seen this once, but I remember really liking it.
Training Day - Denzel Washington is very good in this, I like it.
Black Hawk Down - lots of explosions with people shooting at each other, I like it.
I Am Sam - I want you to kill. Kill. KIIIIILLLLLLLLL. Yeah, I like this one.
The Fast and the Furious - For a street racing film, it was very good. But this isn't really my type of film.
Artificial Intelligene: AI - Yeah, it was okay.
Hannibal - It was okay, but nowhere near great.
Vanilla Sky - I really didn't like this film.
Two films I need to give a second try (mostly the former), they were way too weird for me at the time so I haven't been able to appreciate them. Bill Murray ftw though.
Donnie Darko
The Royal Tennenbaums
Two films I haven't seen that I need to see someday are A Beautiful Mind and Moulin Rogue. Some of the people I knew back in 2001 who were into musicals were like what!? you haven't seen Moulin Rogue. Why!?
Mudholand Dr... never even heard of it. Is it good?

It probably falls into "love it or hate it" territory. The DVD came with what was basically a one sheet "study guide" from the director, and the first question on the IMDb FAQ is "What actually happens in Mulholland Drive, and when?" But yeah, it's a pretty good movie, if not overly strange. But then again all of David Lynch's stuff is overly strange.

The Royal Tennenbaums and Donnie Darko are strange movies so I'll probably give this other strange movie a peek sooner or later.

I won a GBA off buying the VHS version of Shrek so it will always hold a high spot in my heart.
I didn't win anything from Monsters Inc. but I am a p. big fan of the movie.
I was 8 in 2001 so I didn't see any of the others. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"
