The last time I was trying to do the main quest was when I tried to visit the Greybeards and couldn't get past a snow troll, so I left there, and Lydia and I fought a dragon that ambushed us and then we kept on running and I got Meeko and got to that one city (and got a way cool staff from that dream world) and now I'm supposed to be clearing that cave but lol.

I just left Lydia behind to fight the troll. She caught up!

I went up that mountain at a really low level the first time I played. The minute I realized what he was, I ran the fuck away. I absolutely hated trolls in Oblivion, so I wanted no part of the ones in Skryim. He proceeded to kill that lady that was praying by one of the stone markers, which I inadvertently lead him to. Whoops. Gave me enough time to escape at least. |

In my playthroughs I get really concerned about not letting my companions die, so I end up restarting on their behalf, and also because I can't carry all their shit back to Breezehome. Next time I play I'm going to just let them die when they die.
The first time Lydia almost died when I was trying to climb one of the little mountain areas southwest of Whiterun, and I crossed into a Giant Camp while I was doing it. Lydia decided to go ahead and fight him even though we were level 5. I was going to let the bitch die, but then I decided that I wanted to save her, so I made a daring rescue attempt involving distracting the giant. I ended up on a rock near the base of the mountain shooting iron arrows at the giant with a hunting bow and no skill in archery or poisons. Lydia was no where to be seen even after the 12-in-game-hour battle was finished, so I gave up on her, but a few days later after I traveled to other parts of skyrim, sad and alone, Lydia suddenly was there when I turned around.
"I'm still here."
Lydia is creepy tbh. | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I think Lydia died in the first dragon attack on both playthroughs. Never really had a chance to use her.
Kharjo is by far my favorite companion and I think one of the biggest reasons for me restarting was his death in my original. I normally reload upon their death as well but unfortunately I didn't realize he was dead. We were fighting this really strong mage in a cave for a quest I don't remember, but he killed me multiple times and had a ton of HP. When I finally did the deed, I was so relieved to have finally done it that I just looted him and got the fuck out of there. Several autosaves later, I began to realize my kitty buddy wasn't following me anymore. Thought the worst, traveled back the cave and sure enough, found his body face down and tail up near the bottom of some stairs. I shed a tear. |

I cleared out Wolfskull Cave and ran back into it while confused and thinking I couldn't possibly have finished with it because it didn't feel like I'd really done anything (even though I did).
