I loved Fallout 3. I did a playthrough with both good and evil choices. I am in the same boat. I have wanted to play this since it came out but something always got in the way. |
I'm only a few hours in and I love it. The atmosphere is so much better and the things that carried over from 3 have been improved on

Progress so far:
|
-I did the missions in which I end up choosing to have the NCR protect Primm
- Defeated the Powder Gangers with Ringo AND got everyone from the town to help
- Just got to Novac and spoke with Manny |

I've been playing way too much of this the past few days. It's so addicting
|
Yes Man and I's takeover of the Strip has begun, with Veronica and REX backing me up. Mr. House...dead (lol'd at his obituary, for a second I thought it was legit and started to feel SAD until I saw the end). Benny, dead. The heads of the Omerda, dead. The Ultra-Luxes, dead (partly because of the cannibalism, partly because I rly wanted Mortimer's sweetass tophat to complete my Abe Lincoln look).
The only ones that may be spared are the Brotherhood of Steel (not because I like them, I mean they did try to kill me at one point, but because I couldn't do that to my dear Veronica) and those Air Force fucks (I could use that bomber if they ever salvage it, plus Mother Pearl seems p chill). |

Beat this last night
|
That ending was pretty sad! I'm guessing there's no way to achieve a 'perfect' ending in this game though. WAR, WAR NEVER CHANGES
Veronica ended up going back to the Brotherhood despite knowing that they were destined to fail. Rex ended up going crazy with Violetta's brain and joined up with the Fiends to unleash his newfound wild side. MY TWO FAITHFUL COMPANIONS WHYYY :(
Pretty much the only good thing that happened was that Goodsprings is now prosperous thanks to New Vegas' revitalization. SO THAT'S SOMETHING...I GUESS! |
Great game though. I'll definitely buy Fallout 4 whenever that comes out
Gonna start plowing through the DLC that came with it now (started Old World Blues last night, pretty sweet so far).

Really got away from this for a while but I'm hoping to get through it in the next week or so.

Has anyone else played the DLCs? I've got through all of them but Dead Money (I heard that one sucks)
Old World Blues was by far my favorite. All of the dialogue was so great/funny. I loved all the characters in The Sink |
It made me really sad turning against the "teddy bear" robot. :( I wish I could've killed all of them but that one! |
Old World Blues >>> Lonesome Road > Honest Hearts

I am determined to do that deathclaw quest at least once.
I always avoid it. | |

Deathclaws scare the shit out of me. You're just walking minding your own business when suddenly you hear those fucking FOOTSTEPS and you turn around just in time to see it swat you 10 feet into the air.
I once went around an entire lake to get to my destination instead of taking the direct route just to avoid the deathclaws that were on the path

I loved how the game offered you a direct route to Vegas which would take you there in no time, bypassing all that early main quest stuff, on the condition that could manage to sneak by a bunch of pissed off deathclaws, fiends and giant killer mosquitoes.
Speaking of which, those giant mosquitoes were horrible. You could be happily strolling along the wasteland when suddenly 10 of them were on you.

I really need to play the DLC. I just restarted the game in Hardcore so now I'm only like level 8. I don't know if that's high enough to try playing the extra missions without getting hosed. |

Fuck, this thread reminded me that I need to get back into FO3 already. I got to meeting up with Dad and then decided that would be a great point to take a break. And by break, I mean several months. I don't know what it is with Betheseda games, I love them so much but I can only ever play them in short spurts at a time. |

I'd recommend getting to at least level 15ish before going into any of them (:
Especially Lonesome Road, which can be pretty brutal. Honest Hearts is probably the easiest and if you're good enough at the game you probably could handle it at a fairly early level

I don't blame you, KC. The "escort your dad across the entire damn map" quest is annoying as all get out. |
