See I haven't played City but I loved Asylum for how tight it was. This may have left some thinking it was too linear but I thought it was perfectly paced. There was a constant feeling of discovery that was almost Metroid-like, and I can't help but think making it open-world would SPOIL the game a little. |
When I first started playing and went to a couple of areas/got a rough idea of how big the map was, I was like wow this game is gonna be quick I guess. But I love these types of games where you go back to locations and they've changed somehow, or you have new objectives there and have to use the environment in different ways from the first visit. Pretty cool. And I like games where you get new weapons/items and it helps you get into past places that you couldn't get into before

You ever play any Metroid? That's them to a tee.
And I enjoy games that are short, especially games that manage to be as compelling a ride as this one. In fact, knowing City is significantly bigger gives me pause, even though I've owned it for some 8 months

It's bigger in the size of the world but the game can be as long as you want it to be. If you only focus on the main quest it's right around the same length as Asylum I believe. | Nintendo Network ID: EctoCooler47 |

Can't play Asylum because I don't have a console it runs on, but I have the Armored Edition of City and it's phenomenal. | Please ask me on October 1st if they woke me up. I've literally never heard it before and I'm definitely not tired of it. |

It runs on PC as well, I got Asylum and City along with a bunch of games for like $5 when Warner Brothers had their humble bundle charity!

It's a great trailer but tbh I don't think it really says much about the game itself. It's not always a great sign if they don't show any actual in-game gameplay footage

I imagine they'll have another one showing gameplay footage. Most recent games seem to always start with the teaser like this, and it always looks way better than the game itself
Though the article does say the open world city is bigger and that you can drive the batmobile. That'll be sweet

Yeah arkham games always start off with vague trailers before showing the gameplay one.

Asylum being a 3D Metroid is why I loved it, and City being yet another open world game is why I didn't like it as much.
