Well, wasn't expecting that. I never did like that guy. I like how they had Ellie laying into Susan(?) these past two episodes about not knowing about her husband's dealings just for this to happen. That was good
Overall I didn't think the show was anything amazing, some of the cheesy dialogue/camerawork irked me at times. But purely as a whodunit it was pretty well-done
I dunno how they're gonna do S2. Apparently they said there's not gonna be another murder. But surely there's gonna be more than just watching their day-to-day life (:
tbh I might watch the US version, even though I know how it ends. Maybe they'll even switch it up somehow. I really like the cast they've got though. I just wish Tennant wasn't reprising his role because I'd wanna see someone else try it. I dunno why you'd want to do the same scenes twice anyway
S2 seems really silly, Tennant playing an American version of the same character seems even more silly. I really don't see the point at all
The American version is different though. Apparently the first episode is essentially the same, but everything after that is totally different, including the killer, so that should be good at least
Graceland just aired. Watched the first episode last night. It was.....pretty much identical. But I remember the Broadchurch premiere being way more emotional, like one of the saddest openings to a show I've seen. This didn't hit me quite the same, but that's probably because I had essentially seen it already (:
Cart, the mother from Animal Kingdom plays Susan, the creepy dog lady. Nick Nolte plays the WALDER FREY character too
The characters were exactly the same. There was not a single new one and not a single one lost that I can think of. One funny thing, the blonde motel worker in Broadchurch was the only American, in this she's the only Brit
ANYWAY it was pretty much fine I guess. I still really don't get why Tennant would wanna play the same character. Anna Gunn was good. The biggest problem is that I'll just keep comparing it to Broadchurch. Hopefully that'll change once these next episodes begin to differ from it
I just started this series - on epi 6. I really like it. Good acting! Great English/Irish accents. Winner! I did have a slight argument with my friend at work today though. She said Tennant's hair is black. It's red, duh.

How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?
curtis that was some great advice! for a ginger at least
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Why do we need an American version of this? The best thing about it was the British accents. :P Okay, not the best but up there! I finished both seasons. SO GOOD!
Also, I noted the interrogation techniques on Broadchurch and on The Fall are so much different than in America. And then I was watching Dateline tonight which was about another kid being basically bullied and harrassed into a false confession. They had a segment with a guy from the UK explaining how their interrogation tactics are so much different than ours. They are not allowed to lie about having evidence, they have to let people have breaks, can't interrogate longer than two hours at a time, have to let them sleep, underage suspects have to have a guardian in the room, etc. Oh, and evidence needs to actually back up the confession! We really need an overhaul in this country.
(This should probably go in Making a Murderer thread instead of this one.)
I knew going in that there were 3 seasons obviously. But after finishing the first just now, I wondered where the story would go. I figured they'd continue with the

Sandbrook case
And yes, Olivia Colman and David Tennant are superb.
