Thanks for playing!
There's some things I would do differently if I do this again next year but I had fun. I'd love to tweak things to give players more agency, would definitely love the rules to encourage more discussion, and would probably find a way to make bluffing an element in it. I wanted it to be pretty casual though and reflect the randomness of dice rolls in a board game, but I would definitely still change things to allow player choices and actions to have more of a deliberate impact and less of a 'let's see what happens' impact.
Still fun to watch play out though! Seeing rolls come in and people cancel each other out and switch to just the right or just the wrong target was pretty fun. Enjoyed the slashers you all came up with and making those portraits of the nine of them, also really liked the bits of kill flavor people posted. Had fun coming up with 60 different victim archetypes too.
Hats off to Rose for killing it (!) as Tabby. Her decisions kept paying off in huge ways many nights. Junkyard Jack gave her a run for her money towards the end though, just two kills behind! Shoutout to poor Gator for having the worst luck in the game.
Interested to hear what specifically/mechanically people would adjust for a second go around of this next year!

I feel like rolling before you choose to switch one of your locations could be fun, could be a fun way to get info out of other people.

I ended up looking at your Cash n Guns game during sign ups while I was finalizing the rules (Hack n Slash name actually a complete coincidence). I almost went with something closer to that game, but my main concern was streamlining it so it didn’t take a very long time. It was gonna copy the mechanic of choosing from a ‘loot pool’ at the end of a round based on how well you did. The loot pool would be the pool of victims and some would come in pairs or trios and some would have more perks etc. But again, waiting for a turn order for people to select that kinda stuff would’ve been brutal, which we saw right away with that first chase sequence
I was also gonna have more pvp originally where you like, hack or slash a victim and then use your remaining hack or slash against a player to weaken them that same round. Something like that could be fun

Thanks for hosting Curt. Was fun.
I may not have gotten the most kills, but I killed the final girl. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Thanks for running this for us through Halloween. Thought it was a simple, cool idea and I feel bad for not really finding Jack's voice and having banter to throw around.
