I enjoyed this one. The arrow attack in the woods, dock escape, and the two ships escaping were good. Mariko's husband is obviously alive but it's so obvious that I wonder what the point is? Maybe Blackthorne and Mariko getting together and then the husband shows up still alive and it complicates things? Idk
I kinda feel like Ishido and Toranaga are gonna team up against the other three on the council?
Enjoying Toranaga and Blackthorne's budding bromance

DUN
much more lowkey finale than I expected, but p good overall. Thought the character arcs for the mains were satisfying

Toranaga ended up much more morally grey than I expected, truly a Machiavellian lad. Keeping Blackthorne around just for shits & gigs is NOT where I expected that relationship to end up! After the diving scene early on it felt like they were forming a genuine bond, but I guess not. The Anjin was just a pawn all along
SO many sepukkus/threats of sepukku in these last few eps. At least Mariko got to go out in a more flashy way. And Yabu at least got to tumble from a cliff with his, maybe there were even some hungry fish at the bottom to fulfill one of his wishes |
