I feel like I’m arguing on both fronts. Ahoda is saying their isn’t that marquee team so the Big 12 sucks (which I do kind of agree with). Spin is saying it’s not deep (which I disagree with). Make up your mind lol.

There is a lot of parity in the Big 12 which makes it fun. Oklahoma State, Baylor/TCU, Kansas State and now Iowa State were all top 7 teams in the last decade (Texas wasn’t). ACC is just as bad if not worse with Clemson dominating and Ohio State also creates a not that competitive conference either. I acknowledge the Big 10 has some legacy schools but if you take away Clemson (OU) and FSU (Texas) from the ACC, I don’t see how it’s that much different than the Big 12. Maybe I need to watch more Boston College and Duke though.
"So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

I'm not saying it's not deep, just that after OU, the rest of the conference (other than Kansas...lol Kansas) is all basically interchangeable. Some years Iowa State is good, others it was Texas. Maybe Tech has a good season or two, and K-State always puts a scare into people. West Virginia was good about 10 years ago, and OSU can challenge for 10 wins if conditions are right. It's just a lot of meh in the middle.

The ACC definitely has a bottom problem, but so does the SEC (not to the same extent).

I like the Big 12, always have followed it to an extent. I was really hoping when realignment happened the first time, that the Big 12 would blow up and OSU, KU, KSU, and ISU would have joined the MWC. I don't think they are bad, but now they are clearly #5 in the P5.

Pac12 sucks too. Oregon is good because there coach learned hiw to recruit from Saban. SEC plays by a different set of rules

I can tell you that Wisc loss last week sucked all my excitement away. At least they dashed their playoff hopes early this year

ya I'm spoiled compared to 80-90% of other college fans. Still frustrating tho cuz for the past like 20 years they always seem to be on the cusp of contending for a natty only to have 1-3 bad losses at the worst times to just barely take them out of the running. It's gotten OLD!

on top of that, Mertz is supposed to be the best QB in program history outside of Russell Wilson (I think the first 5* QB recruit ever?) and he looked like absolute doo doo against Penn St. That loss was entirely on him

I look forward to seeing who they hire that's better than Helton mid-season.

I bet they'll roll with the interim for the rest of the season and then pull the trigger officially on a hire in early December. A lot of the guys they want to target aren't going to really want to talk to them about it until the season ends, unless they are targeting coaches not currently coaching.
