Got half way through. Will continue in a couple days. This was a huge misstep from Marvel. They took an unknown property and tried to make it a thing. Only did they do that successfully with Guardian’s of the Galaxy.

Personally, I think that The Eternals could have worked better as a Disney Plus show (but hour long instead of half hours). It felt like they were trying to cram so much into one movie.

We were introduced to like 10 new characters, a world ending conflict, and the idea that there are sentient beings growing inside of our planet in approximately 2 and a half hours worth of screen time. They bit off way more than they could chew.

Also, things felt so removed from the rest of the MCU that I almost felt like this could have taken place in another universe within the multiverse.

I watched it yesterday. I liked it. I definitely agree it was a lot crammed in to a movie and having an episode dedicated to each character would have been a lot of fun.

Overall though I thought it was solid. I did have problem really fitting it in to the marvel universe and agree it probably would have made more sense as a separate universe, but that’s not how the MCU works. I thought they did the best they could and the explanations seemed to make sense. And they did an ok job too wrapping it up as to why they wouldn’t be joining the avengers in the next battle. I thought for a 2 hour movie most of the characters were fleshed out pretty good. Only speed girl I feel like was a little weak especially because she was last to be found. I was also torn because I hated Kingo but loved the storyline with the Valet. Him constantly pulling out the cameras was pretty funny.

I’d definitely put it above Shangchi and Black Widow in terms of recent stuff. Overall I’d say it’s worth a watch if super hero flicks are your jam.

I feel like Post-Avengers Endgame there's been a drop in quality, but I haven't really paid as much attention to MCU lately so that could be it as well.

Spiderman was really good. Shang chi was decent but I awkwafina ruins everything she's in.

Took me 2 nights to watch this and barely, just badddd

Spiderman > Shang chi > black widow > eternals

Black widow was boring but Yelena (Florence Pugh) makes it very much worth it
