Trust me, don't work retail if you can avoid it. I mean, I'd probably do that over like fast food, but I worked at the Vans store and besides the discount, I hated it. Boring, boring, boring!!
Was just about to go to sleep now (because insomnia) when my grandma handed me the shit from comcast. She wantsme to order the new modem they want to send.
THERES NOT EVEN A NUMBER ON HERE.
I have to doit through their site. Not a problem, right? WRONG. because I have no idea what our comcast info is. I didnt set up the account. I know the name of the account, but not the password and shit. Unfortunately, the name its under is RALPH. That's my dad's name, and if he set up the account, he probably doesn't have the information because he likes to hide everything in boxes in the basement until they get flooded and destroyed. The other Ralph is my grandpa who is the more likely original account holder.
He's also been dead for two years.
So my options are to try to see if my grandma knows the password (she won't), or to try to call up constant and deal with them (i planned to sleep today), OR to pretend I ordered it, then never speak of it again. Probably th better option since i don't trust the NEW MODEM anyway.
NVM didn't need the account, just the number. GOOD.
I ended up not even calling to cancel the "interview" now they are trying to get in touch with me via phone and e-mail, lol. I blocked their number but they still left messages.
I didn't even realize Kmart was still around. All of their stores around here closed like 5-10 years ago.
And honestly its harder to hire someone for a job right now than it is to find one. I've been trying to hire someone for over a month now and the closest I've gotten is some redneck yokel who's car "broke down" on his way to the interview.
My mom works at the local Kmart and has worked there on and off as a part (or full) time job since 1994. My brother did part-time for a few months while in high school (my mom also offered to get me a job there a few times, but I said no). A lot of Kmarts did closed down during the 2000s (or at least they did in Ohio). One reason why the Kmart she works at is still open is that old people are afraid to drive over a bridge to get to Walmart (which is only 5 minutes away from Kmart if you don't run into red lights).
I now remember when I was elementary school age, on some days I decided to not go to school, I would hang out at Kmart while my mom worked (a local movie theater was next door, so I could crash there for a few hours as well). They had an okay staff lounge with a tv and I helped organize and moved some stuff around the store. One of the managers there once gave me $20 for helping out when I was little.
Also retail is not a bad job depending on what department you're in and especially who you're working with. A job where you're working mostly by yourself and keeping busy is pretty awesome.
