The beginning/ending chase scenes were pretty incredible and worth seeing the movie for alone. I especially appreciated how you could actually SEE what was going on instead of the shakycam overload that they use for 90% of chase sequences now
Outside of the chases... I mean, it certainly wasn't bad, but the plot/characters felt pretty standard for the genre and nothing too special. So the middle section definitely did drag on a bit while they set up all the pieces for the grand finale
also when this song came on:
I was convinced it was the beginning of this:
forgot that intro was sampled from somewhere else (: Was a bit disappointed ngl!!!!!!
I liked it a lot! always wanted to see it when it was "new". it wasn't that BIG in the media iirc, well now I know why. that intro was genius, to set the tone of the movie, which is violently dramatic. brilliant actors in it, story is predictable but it was a strong movie. tension throughout. there is a political message in it, I guess that's why it wasn't advertised as much back then. iraq war, obama this and that. didn't bother me at all though. defo worth a watch!
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
The Bad Batch: It was....aight. It was weird. Same director as Girl Walks Home Alone at Night and her movies so far are really divisive. Girl had a standout scene that sorta elevated the movie for but this one didn't really have that. Jim Carrey played a mute bum and absolutely stole the movie
Eyes Of My Mother: It was just okay for a chunk of it but the last third or so really pushed it ahead. I ended up liking it a lot. It's got some pretty horrific stuff
We Are Still Here: 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. LAME movie. It was pretty awful, I don't think I've ever disagreed with reviews more
Watched Why Him last night. If you like penis and fart jokes you'll enjoy it. Cranston is awesome as he always is. I'm not much of a Franco fan but still had some funny scenes.
