The terrorists had just started rounding up the party-goers into the main lobby of the office suite, when all the lights in the building went out, all at once.
A couple of scared hostages started to scream.
"Go and figure out what is going on" Hans told one of his men. "Make sure we are still on schedule."
With no lights, and no easy way to escape, the party-goers decided that this was all they could do for now.

Down on the street, the police were just starting to respond to the scene. Deputy Chief Dwayne T. Robinson was apprehensive to take control.
"Umm, I want a perimeter set up over on that side of the building, and, uhh, why don't we put some spot lights over on that hill" he said to the officers who had started to gather around.
"Which hill, sir?" asked one of the confused officers.
"Here, let me show you."
Dwayne walked up towards the building, climbing up the small berm between the street and the parking lot. When he got to the top, he turned around to speak to the officers.
"This hill should..."
He never got a chance to finish his sentence, as he was quickly taken down by sniper fire from above.
