It may be unrelated, but in my line of work we have noticed reinforced concrete pipe and manhole sections have been about 30% higher than usual. I wonder if that's because of the price of the rebar inside.

I have a nice powerpoint on the 232 report and recommendations. One of my suppliers put it together.

It might be. I don't buy much rebar, but we have seen about that much increase in general since December or so.

Don't they provide better insulation compared to tree houses?

R value of 12 inches of concrete ~ 1.28

R value of 1 inch of plywood ~ 1.25

so, roughly 1/12 the insulating ability

They make precast concrete with insulation cast into it.

The 232 report was released in mid February, so I doubt he was the only one. Timing it perfectly like that might take some inside knowledge, though.
