I think GC is such a letdown for me because it was a returnee season that was so hyped up. Like usually you're expecting returnee seasons to be epic and this wasn't in my mind. That's why I hate Caramoan too

All returnee seasons 1/4
Half returnee seasons 1/3 (I like BvW but it was boring).
2-3 returnee seasons 1/4 (You could argue Guatemala is good)
Conclusion: Returnee Seasons sucks. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Second Chances is at least top 10 for me. Y'all can hate but it was gr8.
Also Jeremy is one of the best winners ever. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

I have almost no problems with that season, it was great. The only downside I guess is it had a fairly obvious winner, but like Maddie said he was a very deserving/rootable winner anyway

I was unintentionally spoiled on Second Chances. Will need to rewatch to see if I like it or not.
Philippines is top 5 for me, I think.

Wait? Sorry, but I have a hard time seeing Second Chances as anything remotely good. Just like with this season - it had no consistent storyline and it was incredibly hard to keep track of everything that was going on episode to episode.
Sure it had Keith.
But it also had Kelly getting a worse than PK edit, and Spencer having 2000 of the same confessionals about 'self-growth' despite just being a year and a half inbetween Cagayan and SC. Whereas that would have worked better with Kelly/Kimmi considering it was 15 damn years inbetween their games. That would have been intriguing self-growth confessionals; instead they were ignored in favor of Spencer and self-righteous Tasha.
Jeremy was a good winner though. The season just left a very bitter taste in my mouth. Similarly to the way this season did. They are literally exact copies of each other.
That's why returnee seasons don't work with half-assed casts. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

Second Chances wasn't really a half assed cast though. I thought overall a solid cast, just editing may have been different since it was the first all returnee season since HvsV. It's just hard these days for producers to make sense of everything since so much pre gaming happens.
Also, Kelly W not having a ton of airtime isn't necessarily production's fault. She told me that producers wanted to focus her story in a route she didn't want to go so she told them to kindly fuck off and gave them nothing.

May be the case, but that was still no excuse to treat an OG like trash. She had been heavily requested to return for more than a decade at that point. She also leads a pretty interesting lifestyle that they could have explored upon and it doesn't excuse the fact that the edit showed clear bias and there wasn't anyone who felt multi-dimensional from that entire cast.
It isn't just because of the modern Survivor's obsession with 'strategies' and 'big movez', cause take Jay from MvGX for example - by far the most complex and layered personality to have come on the show since HvV. Noone in Cambodia even came close to having that sort of complexity.
A season where you aren't connected to the characters is a lackluster season imo. Cambodia is the definition of lackluster in my opinion. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'
