I've always enjoyed that movie and I really don't like artsy movies in the slightest. It never felt like that at all to me. |

lol it's more just bits like the rose symbolism and the camera stuff with Ricky. The voiceover too. A lot of the movie (in particular the climax) felt very theatrical and melodramatic for a story that I thought should have been more naturalistic and shit. But yeah Spacey was brillant. Also Chris Cooper was excellent. I loved how the movie just hinted at what made him such a hateful, lonely man and how he contributed to his son's state

Still thought it was a good movie, just trying to understand why some of it (in particular the last 20 or so minutes) didn't really land as well as the rest

That's the BEAUTY of it. The ending is so extraordinary you can't even say why you don't like it...you've got no point of reference there, nothing to compare, because AB is arguably one of a (few) kind

P. good! Bradley Cooper was actually really good in it, I was surprised. His delivery of the dialogue was great. The dialogue was a bit different and funny |
Ha that reminds me...I need to fully watch that some time. Got to the 20 minutes mark or so a week ago. Cooper had me curious, De Niro seem'd like a dick ;D | "There he goes. The Master
I liked all of the other PTA movies I've seen, but I have no idea what the shit this was. I kept waiting for the movie to BUILD towards something and it never really did. If it had a point to it it must've went over my head. Great acting though! (:

Django!
Very good I thought although some scenes Tarantino got carried away with in terms of how realistic it was.

The last movie I watched was The Man with the Iron Fists. It's not flawless and it has some stylistic suck in there, but I really liked it and I'd love to see more things like it from RZA.

ART tho.
Take Shelter was the last movie I saw and it was fantastic. A really simple story, well-told through lyrical cinematography and brilliantly subtle performances by Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain. I love Shannon as bug-eyed and insane on BE so seeing how human and nuanced he can make a character like this one is enlightening. And it's also a really touching movie. The only problem I guess is that it moves a bit slowly at points in the beginning, because it's generally obvious how certain things are going to progress. But I wouldn't cut out a second of it for how successfully it builds a sense of DOOM

I like Amelie to some extent but you really have to be in the mood for it.
