It fits the flavor that someone else would be a potential slayer. I strongly doubt Herm would claim the exact same role as a dead player.

That reminds me - Buffy, I remember you pointing out that I don't totally buy Herm's claim. Well, I sort of believe it, but I said I think he's dormant SK, not mafia. We need to lynch mafia. A dormant SK is harmless. Because he's dormant. We can lynch Herm when we have a dead slayer on our hands.

I remember your answer to that and it makes sense. It's why I said I think it's better to lynch someone who we think is mafia today over someone who may become third party/sk/mafia what have you tomorrow.

I still buy it. Maybe I'm stupid. I just think it's very possible the role was written that way without stating the order of who would become slayer next.

Back when I was Mick in ATTWS, I lynched Pierre because it had completely slipped my mind about his PGO claim, and I didn't remember about it until he flipped, at which point I realized that if I had remembered that, I would have had a second thought about that and maybe not contributed to that. So I change my mind sometimes and I forget stuff sometimes, but I'm making an honest effort. So how about we lynch someone who's simply OMGUSing their way through the day phases and contributing as little as possible?

Tricks, I don't think role claiming is the best idea. We've already seen claims today brought on by pressure, and they've acknowledged that they're giving mafia a better idea of who to go after. The mafia needs to know as little as possible about which townies have what roles. That's why I didn't claim until the last possible second last time (or actually the last possible minute, at which point I saw that the thread was closed despite there being nominally 1 minute still remaining, at which point I raged), and that's why I don't see the need to claim now.

Cash, you likely lost ATTWSIV for the town by not claiming earlier. I strongly suggest you reconsider.

Given how scummy some of you think the whole business of trying to shut discussion down early was, I'm amazed that discussion has actually effectively been shut down.
