Curt you were a fan of The Loved Ones weren't you? The director has a new movie out called The Devil's Candy.
Going to check it out if I can find it. |

Just watched it. Never would I have thought that I'd find a Korean zombie movie to be emotional. How fucking detestable was the business man? Like really, top flight all-star dick.
|
He was like directly responsible for every single death that mattered. Well, the old lady technically was I guess but I loved when she opened the door on those assholes. His whole existence kind of marred the final half of the movie for me, but just a bit. The first half or so was top notch. |
Big dude that was slugging zombies in the head and breaking their necks was a bad ass. Really liked this one, great recommendation. I should have tracked it down back when you and Ecto first mentioned it.

the soon to be dad was the best character. Bummer that he was basically the first to go. He was my favorite
Asshole business man was my favorite on the opposite end of the spectrum. Never in a horror movie has there been a character more doomed to die a grisly death (which I was saddened that he didn't get but also kinda liked that). But he was a pro. He should hold a Ted Talk on how to be a masterclass scumbag villain |

run all night, was foreseeable all the way through but pretty intense at times. a solid 7/10 for me. | "There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."

Hell or High Water.
I was not expecting to like this movie as much as I did. It's kinda like a modern day Western/Bonnie and Clyde type film. I really enjoyed it. The Ranger part was basically made for Jeff Bridges--he was incredible.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND, even if Western-esque movies aren't generally your thing. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

Finally saw Split. Big spoilers:
|
]OHHHHHHH SHIT. I am SO glad I went unspoiled. I even linked to an article in movie news about an Unbreakable sequel but it said Split spoilers so I never read. I didn't put two and two together
I knew there was some surprise at the end of this movie and I was disappointed when the title card came up at the end cause I figured it was just the fact that she was abused. I thought that was pretty lame if that's what people were talking about. Then suddenly my boy, DAVID DUNN
That was really cool. Really unique too. Unbreakable is one of my favorite movies and it's Shyamalan's best imo. The idea of Dunn vs. The Horde is so cool
Ending aside I enjoyed the rest of the movie. McAvoy was great |

Kevin's dad was killed in a train accident. THE SAME ONE THAT DAVID DUNN SURVIVED. Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Mr. Glass set both the hero and the villain into motion. That's so cool. They literally straight up played the Unbreakable theme at the ending and I was like wow they made this sound way too much like Unbreakable cuz I'm a dummy |

McAvoy was great (as usual). The very end scene saved the movie for me. Which is kind of silly, but it turned everything around and in context explained a lot of things about the character. I did enjoy it and didn't feel like I wasted my time or anything, but that was definitely the icing on the cake.
