I put in a lot of hours in Breath of the Wild and really enjoyed the game so much. I want to find another game that’s similar to it but don’t know what a good game like it would be. Any recommendations? I don’t like games where you are looking from the view of your character and can only see your arms in front of you (i’m very bad at those kinda of games) |
this is for the Switch | |
I was wrong about Jamie he is a true visionary and I name him my successor |

I haven't played BotW yet so im not completely sure how it is compared to other games. you want a 3rd person game is what i get out of this not a FPS or other first person game. what else do you like about it specifically?

I like the open world, do whatever you want and explore. If there is more structure to the storyline that’s cool too

Super Mario Galaxy 2? If that’s for switch and not just Wii 🤷🏻♂️
I think they remastered Spyro too which would probably fit the vibe you’re going for

I would try Super Mario Odyssey which also has a lot of freedom in how you explore the levels. My other rec would be Okami, which has been compared to the pre-BotW Zelda games and has a big beautiful world to explore. There is some mandatory hand-holding at first, but once it opens up it is very fun.

I finished The Last of Us. It was shorter than I expected. But it was fun. Definitely enjoy the stealth aspect and taking out enemies one at a time and having to be strategic about it.

Quarantine inspired me to get a switch and I have become beyond obsessed with Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Amazing turn-based combat system, plus a really deep storyline. Why do I care so much about each of my characters and their relationships? I have no idea but it changes how I deploy them in battle so... yeah.

So my favorite game of all time is Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. I heard about a new indie game called Bug Fables that was highly inspired off of the series. It is really good and very similar gameplay and story style to TTYD. It’s not perfect as the bug theme hasn’t sold me yet but if anyone here enjoyed the first couple paper Mario’s id recommend atleast looking at a trailer or something | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"
