Braums is a local ice cream / burger place ... they're pretty good |
Yeah I like Braums burgers pretty well. Their grocery items are pretty good too. Hot fudge shakes are great. |
Hot fudge shake? Sign me up! |
Midwest Chain ... they only have stores that are close to their dairy operations here in Oklahoma to keep food fresh |
Do the ones near you have the little grocery areas attached?

Yes sir, they're pretty good for the store too. It's nice to get easy stuff, since there aren't any groceries stores within 15mins of our house. But Braums is 5min away.

Is being closed on Sunday the only thing that has people up in arms? I honestly don't know because I don't pay attention to stuff like that. Is denying the owners of that business the right to their religious beliefs that important to people. Is there also not some sense in pandering to the majority religion in the US as a business and getting tons of free press in the process? (70 to 75% of the US population identifies with some form of christianity the last I heard)
Their terrible cow ads make them ire worthy. The fact that they serve ultra processed, hyper grown poultry based spam makes them hate worthy. Being closed on Sunday doesn't change my opinion.

You must have somehow missed the whole Chick-fil-a controversy with the donations to anti-same sex marriage groups, along with regular donations to orgs like Dobson's Focus on the Family (which pushes creationism, abstinence-only education, etc.). So yeah, there is pandering to the majority religion and there is pandering to the extreme whacko side of said religion.
|
Yeah I don't follow any of that stuff. If I did, I would start noticing who gave to poilitical pacs and stuff like that and I wouldn't want to buy anything. |
Political PACs are bad enough, but Focus on the Family contributions is a no go for me. The anti-abortion and anti-gay stuff is awful and the creationism is just icing on the cake. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Creationism doesn't bother me at all. I respect the rights of everyone to have an opinion on abortion. The anti gay stuff is an issue for me as it crosses into bigotry and infringement. Pacs are worse for me. They fuck the entire country over for personal gain and are why we are where we are. Good luck buying anything that won't make you a part of the problem, though.

Creationism is a problem. I wouldn't buy anything from a Flat Earther either. Yes, they have the right to be stupid and ignorant, but I don't have to help them out when I can give my money to someone else. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

Does it bother you as much if they aren't outspoken about it?

I might bash people for fun on here about movies or food, but attacking or trying to change someone's core beliefs is not my thing. It leads to hate and bigotry when that is often what bothered you about their beliefs in the first place.
Beliefs don't bother me at all. It is when that belief is used as a tool to hurt someone else that I have a problem with it. Flat earthers, religious zealots including evolutionists and big bang believers have all been guilty of it at times.

NOw someone ordering a steak cooked past medium is worthy of some hate and bigotry, I will admit.

hard to buy from anyone/company and not support something you may not agree with, if you dig long enough.
That's why I enjoy my ignorance, and anytime some asks if I've heard about someone's music I like, or a company I like to purchase from .... I say NOPE, and I don't want to.
