When I bartended the African American male's would buy Henny a ton more and I only had 1 regular ask for E&J (only reason we had it it in stock tbh). The only white people that ordered Henny or Remy where the white dudes that hung out with the black guys.

you don't really know oakland. it's incredibly varied. some parts are beautiful, best weather in the bay, and you can see all the maddies out getting their zachary's. in other parts, you would get stabbed in the face if you even look like you can afford hennessy. the tooth story i shared was in reference to a guy i knew from the block where i was doing my P/O study and trust me, the grill was just a pipe dream because there's no way he would ever be able to afford it (though he talked about it constantly). the best he could do is scam his EBT card and come away with whatever personal was cheapest, usually vodka or whiskey. i'm not talking about the sort of people who can afford to go to bars.
