I watched Eye in the Sky on the plane from London to NYC and I was really impressed with it.
It does a really good job of presenting the ethical debate over drone warfare; it basically presents the debate like the trolley problem in ethics. I was also able to affirm my position on drone warfare as a result.
Highly recommend this film. Plus Hellen Mirren is a babe. Also Alan Rickman is in it RIP. | "All this from a slice of gabagool?" |

Don't Breathe
GOOD MOVIE. Less horror and more thriller/home invasion. Kinda like The Collector and kinda like Green Room. Filmed and written just as smart as those two were, filled with clever little moments and set pieces and small puzzles. There were quite a few times where I held my breath along with the characters. It never got UNBEARABLY tense but it was still really effective. Worth watching |
Ahhh hell, want 2 see even more now. Very relieved to hear it was good. |
Saw this last week - loved it.
Wasn't at all expecting the territory it went into in the second half.

Just finished the movie and watched the RLM review! Very amusing!
Rich Evans trying to explain the plot was gold.

I wasn't planning two movies in one night but I happened to come across Westworld on TV and I figured I'd give it a go.
Very cool movie. A bit goofy at times, but highly entertaining.
During the ad's there was a trailer for the upcoming HBO series. It's the first I've heard of it. I guess that explains why Sky Atlantic were airing a random movie from the 70s.
Remakes tend to be far more tolerable when they adapt movies into TV series. I'm not sure why that is.

I'm watching Fail-Safe (1964) and at first, I just had it on for background noise, but then it got really intense.
It's about the Cold War and the US ends up sending planes with nukes to Moscow due to a system error, and they almost stop all the planes by coordinating with the Soviet Union (and even giving an option of having New York destroyed by a US bomber if a US plane does nuke Moscow, and they're not even sure if Russia's sending planes over to the US yet but they know it'll happen if Moscow's destroyed (and the First Lady's in New York for extra drama)).
But one US plane gets through and of course it's the plane with the bombs and the pilot refuses to go back on the mission. Most of the movie is focused on the US president and the war council guys talking to the other ambassadors and trying to figure out what to do next/apologizing while waiting for the destruction.
And the end credits are just the high pitched noise that their phones make when the bombs hit and burn everything.

The original Amityville Horror. I thought it'd be scarier because it's older, but it was more silly than anything.

Watched Borat and Sausage Party this past week. Still love Borat. Don't watch Sausage Party. What a pos movie. So glad I didn't waste any money on that one. |
