He was an impressionable little boy. Penner was just trying to find his place in life. He had never really traveled outside of the Kashmir region growing up, as his parents were very poor and couldn't afford those kinds of things. However, things changed after he learned about the teachings of Buddhism. Suddenly everything made sense to him. He knew that his purpose wasn't to stay in this little village, but to go beyond and spread the great teachings.
As he was packing to leave, he decided to check in with his friends one last time. As they were saying their goodbyes, he started telling them all about his new found knowledge about the great Buddha. He went on and on and on until finally the group had heard enough.
"He was kinda cool until he got all preachy" said Curtis.
"Yeah, let's knock him down a peg or two" chimed in Ahoda.
So the rest of the group closed in on poor Penner and started to beat on him. All Penner could think was "Wow, this pacifism is amazing! This barely hurts at all!"
