lol I thought that was Betty at the Burger Chef in the beginning that Peggy was interviewing. It would've been interesting to see Peggy and her interact (:
That episode was great. The last Don and Peggy office scene was probably my favorite of the season

What the fuck was that ending
Liked all the stuff with Burger Chef. Thought the moon landing stuff was all pretty eh. I get why they do it but I never did like them spending huge chunks of episodes just having people watching defining events on TV
I thought last week's episode was WAY better! That would've been a better way to end the half-season

The half season finale was my favourite so far, personally. Loved Cooper's song at the end.
Peggy's pitch to burger shot was reminiscent of the carousel pitch by Don in S1. It got to me, that did.

Also, the whole watching events on TV thing has never bothered me. I like it! Helps place you in the time period.

For whatever reason after binging 7 seasons in a row I never ended up catching the midseason finale (: . Just watched it now though
|
RIP BERT! I've been expecting him to die for a very long time for whatever reason and yet this ended up surprising me, it kinda came outta nowhere
For some reason I like....completely forgot what happened in the first half of season 7. It's weird, that never happens to me with shows. I can't even remember probably major things from the series like why Roger and Ted hate each other (: . I have no idea why
V. disappointed in Joan's continuous disapproval of Don this season. THAT I remember! It makes me mad/sad. Remember that bar scene with them way back when? One of my favorites from the show
Gonna watch the newest episode now |

Yeah I kinda had that too actually. I even watched the midseason finale as a refresher before the premiere last night but there were still a few moments where I couldn't remember what a character was up to last season

Weird premier but I liked the stuff with Ken. He's always been one of my favorites so I was sad to see they were writing him out early. Glad that seemingly isn't the case though |

lel. Don's gonna be PISSED! Bet he's gonna quickly regret writing that check
also that Harry/Megan scene was so hilariously uncomfortable

last night's episode was the funniest in a while
"WE HAVE A PEANUT BUTTER COOKIE PROBLEM!"
and
"Can't believe you two have the balls to walk back in here after the way you embarrassed yourselves"
were so great | |

God damn it Matthew Weiner. Your son cannot act, deal with it!

I actually read a rumor that Sal got written out because the actor made fun of Glen's acting and Weiner found out and got pissed

also this comment is hilarious/on-point about that scene:
|
This is what it feels like: pleasant after dinner get-together at the Weiner place. We’re telling funny anecdotes about saying tone deaf things in business meetings. Making topical conversation. Once everyone’s settled into a buzz, we’re considering the deeper questions. Where do we, as individuals, go from here? What does it all add up to?
Then their teenaged kid walks downstairs. He’s headed to the kitchen for a snack. Dad, who’s drunker than the rest of us, tells us all about his son’s new chest hair, then insists that he unbutton his shirt at the top so everyone can see. He won’t let it go, and won’t allow the kid to button back up until we’ve all gotten a good look. Finally, the son is excused to return upstairs, forgetting about what he wanted from the fridge in the first place, and there’s an awkward pause in his absence.
Then all the guests start making excuses to leave. |
