Basically these old grannies are having a virthday party with all their younger nieces and nephews and the like. They don't invite the evil sorcerer black sheep of the family, who instead sends a cursed present to them that turns them into murderous demon-possessed grannies. Said grannies then start killing off all the people in the house.
If the trailer on here doesn't make you want to find where you can watch this film immediately, then you are clearly sober!
I've only seen Fateful Findings, but that was enough for me to decide that I want to watch everything this guy has made, so it's definitely on the list!
This movie is so frustrating. I liked parts of it and hated others. The TONE just never worked for me. It's going for spiritually fulfilling in all the wrong ways and comes out incredibly unsatisfying.
Maybe I was trying to get something out of this movie that it wasn't and that's why it feel flat for me, but I don't think so. I think it fails at what is trying to be, too.
Great acting from Stanley Tucci though. And certain parts were really well done. Just overall I didn't like it, even though I really wanted to.

Decided to read up on the book vs the movie a bit. Seems like some of the things that bothered me in the film were done differently/better in the books, but at least one part is actually much much worse in book context.

The movie's individual scenes were great for the most part but the way they were cut together was very hit or miss, and the parts that mattered the most were the parts that seemed to miss the mark. I get what it was going for and maybe the way I would have liked to see things would have undercut the theme the movie ultimately wanted, but it was frustrating for me
There were parts that were amazing though, and the visuals were fantastic (especially the darker parts of the in-between). The beginning of the movie, first 20 minutes or so was perfect.

Watched "Just Buried" last night. It was fun at first, but then went downhill- the actual plot didn't match the described plot. It also took us awhile to try to figure out who the main actor was, to find out he was in Fanboys.

Decided to grab the limited edition of Hardware off of Amazon, since I hadn't seen it in years and wanted to see if it was as good as I remembered. I'd forgotten how much symbolism there was in the movie.
It's a post-apocalypse world. Nomad wanderer checking out a battle site finds parts to a warbot and scavenges them for cash. Another guy buys the pieces and gives them to his artist girlfriend, only for them to discover that the warbot is engineered for survival, starts putting itself together, and reeking havoc.
For those who saw the video from PiL I posted the other day from "last song I listened to", this is the movie for that song.
Has Iggy Pop as DJ/newsman "Angry Bob", Carl McCoy from Fields of the Nephilim as the "nomad scavenger", and Lemmy from Motorhead as a taxiboat driver. PiL, Lemmy, and Ministry make it on the soundtrack
