Watched The Night Before. Very crude and typical Seth Rogan flick centered around drugs. I certainly enjoyed it and laughed pretty good at a few scenes.

Watched The Zero Theorem. Beautiful Gilliam visuals, as always, and the story was quite interesting. I'm still on the fence about how I feel on the ending, though.

The Invitation - Caught my eye on Netflix, had a nearly 90% fresh score on RT so I checked it out. I liked it, it sort of reminded me of shades of Coherence (though not as good). A woman and her new husband throw a dinner party and invite her ex-husband and his new girlfriend, along with all of their friends after having not seen one another for more than two years.

The Pack - I always get greedy after finding a movie on Netflix that I enjoy and wind up watching something like this while trying to chase the high. It wasn't the worst thing I've seen on Netflix but it was a marked step down. Some wolves or dogs or some sort of canines terrorize a family on their farmland. It's like Dog Soldiers but with actual dogs instead of werewolves. Alternate title could be Cujo x5.

Just went to Cinespia at the Hollywood Cemetery. Every week they screen a movie there and this was my first time going. It's a whole production. Photobooths, vendors, tons of people, tickets, and you can bring food drinks and blankets and chairs inside. Yeah all in the cemetery.

Today's screening was SPEED. It was awesome

Watched Sharknado 4 on Saturday night. Man I loev how awful those movies are and the homage to Star Wars and The Wizard of Oz was epic.

Sunday night I watched American Ultra. Entertaining to kill time but not a good flick by any means.

SLC Punk 2

The road trip scenes were fun to watch as I was just driving through back roads Salt Lake a few weeks ago when I was picking up my dog, so I recognized a few of the streets.

Doesn't hold a candle to the first by any stretch (and tbh I was prepared for a stinker going in), but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Didn't really like the three leads at all but the returning characters were fun (John the Mod was the best character by far) and the soundtrack was great.

I just got home from seeing the documentary "Weiner," about former Congressman Anthony Weiner's failed bid for mayor of New York in 2013.

It was a really good look at not only how the media fixates on scandal and how it can basically bury a public figure's career, but also a complicated marriage constantly under public strain. I cannot believe how much access the filmmakers had to Anthony and Huma--you basically see his wife finding out about the second scandal on camera. Definitely recommend this documentary, whether you're interested in politics or not.

Watched Race and Eddie the Eagle. Both are very entertaining. Race was more intense due to the circumstances.

Watched the Corman Dunwich Horror adaptation last night and it was as awesomely bad as I remembered. Dead Stockwell has the best awful mustache.

Fateful Findings.

I love 'so bad they're good' movies, and this is one of the best I've ever seen. The guy in my avatar is the director and star of it. He's like Tommy Wiseau. I think it's actually funnier than The Room too.

Found about this via YMS on youtube. He recommends getting drunk with friends and watching this movie, which I did last night. I wasn't disappointed (until somebody found a knife).
