Finally got to see this and loved it. Probably would have enjoyed it even more back around Christmas. It goes onto the extremely short list of good horror movies to watch around Christmastime. I hope the director keeps putting out horror movies like this and Trick 'r Treat. Krampus and most of his non-CGI cohorts were well done.
We're looking forward to watching this with the kids- we even go to Krampusfest DC every year (my kids were both in little Krampus outfits last year and mine this year is gonna be awesome).
I actually did a school project about Krampus when I was still in High School. Considering I lived in Holland, and Krampus was actually ''celebrated'' mainly in Germany/Austria, it's a bit more well know there.
The folklore behind it is what's so fucking creepy about it. The movie was decent for what its worth. But I'd for sure recommend looking up some history regarding Krampus. It's fascinating as hell! Also the way they 'celebrate' it is pretty.. 'unique' I should say. There's def some nightmare fuel within the festivals.
Here's a vid:
ps. yes, they literally have the right to hit you on the streets if they come by. It's def nothing you'd see in America.
Saw Green Room last night. Best movie of the year so far for me, I already wanna see it again
Spoiler
+
I'm pretty glad I didn't recognize Imogen Poots, because otherwise I might've guessed she'd make it the end (since she's the biggest name in the movie besides Patrick Stewart). But as it was I had no idea what to expect, I love that the two unlikeliest people that got injured/mangled early on made it to the end
Favorite moments:
- Everything with Big Justin
- When the lights go out and Amber lights up her lighter. I forget what she says exactly ("Don't panic"?) but it was such a cool moment visually
- "Madonna...Slayer"
- "It's funny. You seemed so scary in the dark"
- That ending line ofc
ya I was shifting in my seat so many times in the last half of the movie. It's been a while since a movie or even TV show had me so invested in the protagonists' fates
Blue Ruin's been on my "list" for a while but I really wanna see it now
My daughter is reading the Harry Potter books and is most of the way through Book 6. The rest of us hadn't been all that interested, so we've never actually seen any of the HP movies. So we were all sick this past weekend and knocked out the first three in a marathon.
They are OK, except we:
1) Don't really like how anyone treats Hermione. Ron is a douche to her most of the time and the teachers have been pretty dickish to her. Yes, we know she hooks up with Ron later, but Marlena (my daughter) says that Ron isn't such a douche in the books.
2) For witches, they seem to be a bit of dicks to animals too, outside of Hagrid. It pretty much seems to come down to "Hey, if we can't use you for something, fuck off, animals!"
But yes, this is the first time I've seen any of the movies and I never had an interest in the books. I feel like those people who tell me they've never watched Star Wars.
How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?
Hush. A home invasion thriller about a mute/deaf lady being stalked by a killer
Looked cheesy based on the Netflix poster but it has a 100% on RT (11 reviews but still) so I gave it a shot. I liked it a lot, anyone who likes the genre should enjoy it. There were no cringe worthy stupid choices by the characters like there always is, it played out in pretty smart and surprising ways at times. John Gallagher Jr. (who I think is gr8) plays the killer
