Exactly. California has a ton of high school talent. I can’t ever remember UCLA recruiting a top 5 player from ANY state anywhere in the South. And I’m not exactly young.

If you recruit halfway decent exclusively in the state of California you can land a top 20 class.

Auburn’s last 2 season openers have seen them defeat the eventual PAC 12 champs.

They haven’t been able to figure out offense since Boykin graduated. They always have a solid D (which is his thing) but haven’t had a top offense in a while.

For a team that went 9-4 with a 1st year coach, I'd say that's a hell of a haul for "non-west" top recruits, since Bama can get anyone they want (other than kickers, apparently).
