rdr was epic in terms of wasting time. Speaking of which I got farcry 3 on friday, and spent a fair bit of time playing it over the weekend. And I haven't had so much fun with an open world game since rdr. I'm loving it.
I'm playing on ps3,and I haven't experienced any bugs or technical issues so far. More over I find the island to be pretty good in presentation and really dig the atmosphere thus far. I'm not or never have been too focused with graphics tho (but again, I think the game looks good) so I guess this is up to the individual.
I've played somewhere between 5 - 10 hours, and have barely touched the campaign missions, there is just a lot of shit to do. But so far I've liked the story, in fact the start is pretty excellent. The core villain in the game Vaas is pure win, a psycho nutjob.
But So far I have really enjoyed all the side shit... I especially like liberating outposts, (and if you have disabled the local radio tower you get a portion of the map detailing your surroundings) which opens up more shit to do (hunting missions, reward-bounty missions etc, supply drops, races etc). It's pretty sweet, you can take a camp down with stealth and patience, using takedowns and suppressed sniper. Or you can just go in guns blazin' (or you can get lucky and a tiger will come in and take out half the camp for you.).
Hunting is pretty sweet to. Wildlife is a big factor in this game. I find it pretty fun, and hunting has meaning as you can craft shit with the skins you collect; wallets, loot sacks (holding shit), ammo bag, gun sling etc... Obviously the better upgrades requiring more and difficult to kill animals. Speaking of which swimming is terrifying; I avoid the ocean at all costs, fucking sharks.. even rivers though, I quickly jumped in a small river to get to an opposite bank and a freakin croc came from nowhere.. you do have a camera/binoculars and if you tag any enemy or animal their location and whereabouts is always known which helps a lot with hunting and taking down the pirates.
so far im really like the game. most fun i've had in an open world since rdr. | |

well if you like it that's good for you i guess (:
it didnt run well on my system. directx 11 was looking like directx 9 and stuff like that. couldnt be bothered to tweak it. i read about the ingame mechanics and stuff, all the extra minigames they put in place there, but it didnt seem appealing to me. maybe in a couple of years it will
@ RDR
bro i love that game too. probably more than you and jefferson combined. bullet time in the wild west? someone must have created that game just to please me...if i started to ramble about how much this game speaks to me personally i would spend the next 30 minutes here...i just cut it short:
RDR is one of the best games ever created. It is in my ALL time top 10 for sure. every day i wish i could play it on my PC....i wish.....every day....just to be able to ride through the countryside for a few minutes.....*sigh* | "There he goes. I'm probably putting RDR on my Christmas list. I'm just about finished both Fallout 3 and New Vegas, and I'll need another game to fill the time. (I got Fable III with the box, but I don't really feel like playing it TBH.)
Probably also going to ask for Walking Dead, based on Dutchiee's recommendation. |

I've been playing a lot of Skyward Sword as of late | Please ask me on October 1st if they woke me up. I've literally never heard it before and I'm definitely not tired of it. |

Nike + Kinect
I admit, I was skeptical. I'm not after trying it. Holy .... um, yea. Apparently a video game workout can actually be pretty tough. And I ranked above average for age range on both levels. :) That may not be much, but I'll take it. lol | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

Just powered through the campaign of Halo 4. Not gonna lie, I wasn't terribly impressed. I've played a lot worse, but I've played a lot better, too. |

I never understood what was so special about HALO. I've played the first one when it was brand new and that was okay really. Above average, but certainly below anything special. A rich dude had just bought an X-box back then and he brought it to a good friend of mine to play for weeks. We''ve played Co-op mode. I had to play with that MEGA fat controller, the other dude already had the "small" edition controller, but he wouldn't let me play with it....that bitch (: ...well, never got the Halo Hype...guess it is that science fiction, lasers & aliens spaceship, heavy bulletproof armor whackery that just didn't speak to me that much. ME 1 and 2 were aight thought, due to RPG elements and a really engaging story. Meh, science fiction
Currently playing GTA IV again and I am damn impressed by it. Astonished by how astonished I am by this game. I just NOW realized, some 4 years later, that I can change clothes to a CLAUDE SPEED outfit, GTA 3 old skool baby. That was unexpected, thus the more excited I was /am. Just driving down the freeway in my Infernus or Super GT is a blast! Radio turned up to the maximum, orange-drained skies in the back. AMAZING. Gonna play all weekend long. | "There he goes. No worries mate. It's in my ALL TIME top 10, meaning it will be in there forever (till I die) probably and even games yet to come in the future can't get it out of there. It is in good company amongst
- Max Payne I & III
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Tschernobyl
- L.A. Noire
- GTA San Andreas
- Alan Wake
- Half Life II
and...some other games I can't think of right now.....I am still not good at making list. Never was never will be I guess. But yeah if I had all the games lined up I could think of, then RDR would still rank pretty high, as it was/is pure innovation to the genre and unmatched to this day. The wild west vibe has never been caught that magnificentally in a game.

I think Red Dead Redemption is a perfect game. Followed up with perfect, albeit crazy, DLC.
Does anyone here have a 3DS? Post your friend codes if so, pretty pleeease.
