My guess, the shooter is the town vig, had to kill someone, and wasn't going to be around for the remainder of the day, so they just picked someone who hadn't showed up yet.

Actually, it might be closer to 80/20, because an anonymous SK who (likely) can't be tracked/watched during the day, wouldn't take out an inactive, they'd take out someone more 'important'.

But I'd agree with Spin except I'd go more like 87/13. And he brings up a good point about a Daykilling SK who can't be tracked - unless there is a Day Tracker/Watcher, but that seems unlikely.

Also, I didn't really care that much about it until I saw Ender's post and found out he was a newbie. Then I was sad for him. Wouldn't have been my choice, though.
