If he did come out and say "okay fine I am town bulletproof" you guys would all say "Oh well obviously he is lying since he waited so long to claim so let's lynch him anyway". Don't even pretend like you wouldn't. In my opinion only scum have a reason to keep their roles a secret when under major pressure.

Also, I don't really see how we don't lynch Lamps today when he's not providing anything to help the town besides theories of why JC was killed. If he won't claim, what good is he to town? He will always be a question mark unless new and better info comes out.
