A Christmas Story at the historical theater downtown. Now it feels like Christmas. Have any of you even heard of that one?
A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart.

I saw LINCOLN yesterday. I thought it was very good. Mostly because of Day-Lewis' performance

Twenty-FIVE hour marathon actually, it only makes sense :P

Also, last movie I saw was FINALLY seeing Casino Royale the other night.... would you believe that it was my first Bond movie ever?
Please ask me on October 1st if they woke me up. I've literally never heard it before and I'm definitely not tired of it.

olawd if that's your first Bond. Not that it's a bad starting point, given that it's a reboot, but you have to get on that shit greenday. MIGHT I RECOMMEND GOLDFINGER OR FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE?

Greenday I'd recommend you start from the beginning with Doctor No, then work your way through all of them. :) Most of my casual Bond fans started with Casino Royale for some reason. Mine was Tomorrow Never Dies, then Goldfinger and From Russia With Love in which I knew I'd love the series after watching those.

I started with Casino Royale by chance. My roommates happened to be planning to watch it one weekend so I decided to join in. LOVED it.

My favorite's always been Goldeneye, but mostly because I grew up as a member of the N64 generation.

I was famous in my high school for being the uncontested master of the Bitchslap Attack. For whatever reason, the turn speed was exactly the same if you were stationary or if you were running, so if you did it just right, you could run circles around the other players and bitchslap them to death because no matter how hard they tried they could never catch you.

Jackie Brown - loved it. Fantastic crime movie with a great cast. DeNiro in particular as a SOCIALLY AWKWARD FELON who is obviously murderous was wonderful and hilarious. The structure of the movie was awesome too, I really liked seeing how the character's schemes kept ESCALATING on one another.

Also it was surprisingly touching at the end. I think it's because Jackie and Max's feelings were largely understated (save for the constant recurrence of the Delfonics tape), and the expressions they wore at the end were really heartbreaking. I get what people mean when they say it's as close to conventional a movie Tarantino will make. There's less post-modern irony here and the characters feel like actual people.
