Last thing I remember when I played this game (like 5 months ago) is some quest of getting a dragon egg. I got it, I'm pretty sure from some cave. Then I tried to steal a horse, then got killed. Then rebooted and started running around a mountain and got smushed by trolls.
Playing this on PC for the first time now. Had the 360 version, but never finished (as I never do any Bethesda game). Also for the first time, using Nexus to mod it out which I've never bothered to do with Fallout for whatever reason.
Playing as a total asshole Nord. I usually play as a nice guy and spare lives. Now I'm killing traveling farmers who dare to walk alone and stealing from every house in town, slaughtering anyone who catches me.
Very excited for the remastered edition in October. Said it in the Steam thread already but if you buy Skyrim on Steam right now, you get it for free upon release. It's a pretty sweet deal considering it'll probably be $60.
I think I remember reading that it wouldn't carry over. Some people were complaining about that. I've been Itching to start playing again but I've been waiting for the remastered.
I could finish up some old saves but I'll probably be sick of it by the time the upgrade happens

Meh, I didn't even know the Remastered version was coming out until I already decided I wanted to play it again. Besides, the good thing about games like this is is that there are so many paths you can take to shape the game in a completely different way. Whether it's by what companion you wish to favor, what side of the war you choose, what race you pick or what your main skills are - it completely changes the game and the way you play it.
I played a little bit of the special edition tonight, but I gotta be honest, I didn't notice much of a difference! Helgen and Riverwood aren't the best places to show off the new graphics though.
My first death was to a glitching lettuce cart
I also found what appears to be a dead screaming parrot in a tree
Didn't get to play much after arriving in Riverwood and trying to do all the little misc Riverwood quests and probably won't play more until next week

What's the difference between the old version and the remastered one?
Only graphics or did they add content/change stuff?
I think it's mostly graphic upgrades, which are pretty subtle for me (only running High graphics tho) without looking side by side so far. I haven't seen any other differences in game besides the screaming parrot corpse yet. It's also got integrated mod support, and runs on a better version of the engine, so mods are less restricted by the old limitations.

Even though I have the rights to a free version on Steam, I ended up buying the enhanced edition of this on PS4 because I'm a genius.
I honestly don't notice a difference at all (: Graphics might be a little better but tbqh having not played this game in two years, I couldn't tell you they look any better. It's funny they kept the same bugs and glitches in too such as the stuck redguard warriors who say "Good afternoon!" 24/7 in Whiterun and some of the broken quests.
Still fun! This game never really gets old for me so I don't mind having it on my, now, third platform. Maybe this time I'll actually finish it. I think I've already gotten further ahead in the story than I ever did on the previous two installments but I've done virtually no exploring whatsoever. I'm excited to have the DLC included too as I haven't fucked around with anything but Hearthfire. Playing as an Argonian (my favorite race but somehow my first build of one in Skyrim!) thief. Good times.
I made the same mistake, thinking it'd actually be an improvement. Part of it was so I could just play Skyrim in another room without moving stuff around, which seems a shit reason but hey, it's Skyrim.
And yeah it has all the same glitches. Even Louis Letrush:
