The question was not - where will you house your exotic pet? The question is what kind of exotic pet would you get? We didn't have to prove we have the location or funds to keep this pet. It's a fantasy question. Plus, having a giraffe would be just about as easy as an elephant or tiger (I'd say orca but completely different type of housing).

I'm in my 40s, Professors retire when they die, and I'm not actually a professor. I'm basically a glorified HS teacher who teaches grades 13-14.
