Had family movie night last night and we watched The Santa Clause. So cheesy but the kids loved it. |

The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne
It's a documentary on that 80-something-year-old black lady who's an international jewel thief. My first thought while watching it was that I wanted a movie with Cicely Tyson playing her or something.

I went to see creed in the movie theatre. I really liked it. I thought it was the best Rocky since 3 honestly.
At home I watched Straight Outta Compton 2 days ago. I thought it was pretty good. Sucks that its pretty one sided from Ice Cube perspective but obviously with Eazy dead there isnt much you can do

So somehow I ended up watching the Cool Cat movie.... I saw a thumbnail and it was the cat from Wikey's avatar and I was curious just what the fuck it was.... Probably one of the most unintentionally hilarious things ive ever seen. A terrible psa about online bullying that couldn't be more out of touch with how the world really works... Or how movies should really be. Definitely worth a watch if you like bad movies.

The Hateful Eight
Enjoyed it, and thought it was hilarious at times. The cast felt like a who's who of people Tarantino has worked with once it all got going. It was like the bar scene from Inglourious Basterds stretched to nearly three hours (sheesh), in that you're just waiting for something to pop off (and because the whole thing takes place in the haberdashery). It also gives Django a run for the title of most flagrant use of the word nigger. I really don't think it needed to be as long as it was and I think that's going to kill it for a lot of people. It could have been wrapped up in 2 hours or even less, but that's whatever. I could see it being reworked as a stage play.

I wish they would have kept Channing Tatum off of the promotion circuit because I would have been a lot more surprised by his introduction if I didn't know that he was in the movie. Him getting his head blown off within seconds of reuniting with his sister was hilarious.
I went in expecting this to be more of a mystery than it wound up being, but that's not really a complaint. The biggest surprise to me was the flashback revealing that the old man was basically a passive participant in the charade for self-preservation.
I do think people will be ranking this pretty low on their lists of Tarantino's best movies though. |

The Revenant
This movie was fantastic. It was a bunch of ugly shit set against beautiful scenery. I don't have a lot to say about it, just that I loved it. I'm going to watch it again soon, hopefully with my dad. I hope that this is finally the movie that unseats Jeremiah Johnson as his favorite movie that isn't called On Golden Pond.

Plan to watch it tonight. I heard it is the best since the original. I have also heard it is just inside the top 40 of Rocky movies so I want to see for myself.
