Although due to all the characters and choices so far, I'm a little worried on whether or not this is another one of those "choice" games that ends up being the same no matter what albeit with slightly different ways of getting there. I do really hope there is a scenario where everyone can die or all 8 can die.

there is. That game's one of the few reasons I kinda wish I had a PS4, sounds fun
I made it through with only one of my dudes dying and it was totally preventable. It was the black dude who fell off a cliff after an unfortunate altercation with some elk. I thought it was a pretty cool game, especially if you like bad horror movies (like me) but for me it's a one-and-done game so you probably want to find it cheap if anyone's considering it.
My recommendation if you're trying to keep people alive: don't split up or leave people behind if you can help it.

Really? Not Bloodborne or Uncharted Final Fantasy or The Last Guardian but Until Dawn?

I said one of the FEW! Though the only one out of that list I'm actually interested in is Last Guardian, even though I never played Ico or Colossus. I could already play the first 3 Uncharted games on PS3 if I wanted to, but Tomb Raider's filled that void for me since they're practically the same game
The main reason I might actually buy a PS4 in the future though is for RDR2, since who knows when/if that'll be released on PC

Huh. Well that makes me feel pretty shitty about the thing that just happened to me then.
Uncharted is g8 Boc. Although to be fair, I've been skipping over the Tomb Raider games for similar reason (:
Oh dude, I completely forgot about The Last Guardian.
I started playing the Last of Us recently but didn't get overly far. It's a long haul game and takes a fair bit of commitment to play since I wind up dying multiple times in each area. I really like it though! Reminds me in aesthetics and setting quite a bit of Children of Men.
I'm torn on whether to get Pokemon Sun/Moon, Final Fantasy or The Last Guardian to play over the holidays. Tempted to go Final Fantasy since it's a bigger game but the early reviews aren't looking phenomenal and it's been years since there was a decent installment. The Last Guardian looks incredible and I love Team Ico but I don't know if there will be much longevity.
Pokemon is just pokemon. Safe bet but I know exactly what I'm getting so probably few surprises.

Definitely look into Shadow of the Colossus! The controls have some jank and the PS2 version has some framerate issues but beyond that it still holds up. Though I think The Last Guardian will probably be more similar to Ico.
I've never delved too far into SoC, not because I disliked it but because I found it too difficult at the start and gave up. I'll come back to it because it was an enjoyable experience as far as I got.
Ico is one of my all time favourite games though. Safely in my top 10.

Haha, I just got to this part and remembered this post so I was extremely tense during the whole situation. I really like Matt so I was super nervous I was gonna fuck up and get him killed but all went well.
Also I'm REALLY impressed about something. Early in the game there is a small, seemingly meaningless sequence which allows you to disturb a crow. Doing so or not doing so will allow nature to keep it's balance. Anyway much later in the game, that same crow will cause a distraction that helps you hide from the killer. That's fucking awesome. I remember a sequence in Life in Strange where you can prevent a bird from smacking against the window and allow it to live by letting it inside Chloe's house. I kept theorizing in that thread that it would have some massive effect which never came to fruition... kinda funny to see a bird have such a big impact in a similar choice-matters game.
Oh man. I just finished. Amazing game, but god do I suck. I was feeling REALLY good about everyone living towards the end but then everyone just started dropping like flies cause of stupid decision after stupid decision. Sucks to get such a shitty ending after all of that. I ended the game with THREE survivors.

Chris, Sam and Matt were the only survivors for me. Holy shit. Fucked up escaping with Jessica, missed the important clue for Josh, I killed Emily and Mike by deciding it'd be a great idea to light the lodge on fire right away and I went completely against Ecto's advice by moving away from the group with Ashley and getting her head ripped off. I'm really upset about my final Sam decision, that was such an asshole move. I didn't realize what was happening right away and to see Mike go like that was a kick in the gut. I hated him in the beginning but he turned into such a boss that I really wanted to see him live. I didn't give a fuck about Emily tbh (:
Despite the shitty way I ended it, it was still a great experience and amazing game. The game has a map of all the decisions you made and what they effected, which is really cool to look back on. It's really impressive how many little things you didn't really think about effected the game and in some cases seriously decided some fates.
So me and my friend Doug have a let's play channel now... moose is there sometime too they're pretty funny and if you liked my Mal plays this is that... But with another dude and actual games.
