wowowow. I was just thinking that this season needed more DEATHS cuz there's no way they couldn't at least match the Bob death from last season. AND BOY DID THEY! The Billy death was some decent redemption but I didn't care toooo much about it, but did not see Hopper going :( (tho I'm still not completely convinced since they never showed the body and the ending mentions "the American". That'd be pretty dumb if it's the case tho)
Not sure what that end credit scene was really supposed to hook us on? There's still some demagorgon(s) alive? I guess? Doesn't really seem to directly lead into S4 unless they're all going to Russia or something (:
Steve/Robin's pairing was one of the best storylines of the season for sure. Sad they didn't get together at the end but glad they made it out UNSCATHED. That scene with Steve trying to get a job at the end was great
The Dustin/Suzy karaoke at the end was such a great payoff. I thought he was calling Clarke at first
Might've been my favorite season yet? I loved the settings for this season, it had two of the BEST locations possible between the mall and the carnival. Led to a lot of visually interesting/creative scenes for sure
gonna be interesting to see how they handle it from here since I'm not sure how much bigger they can make it without losing sight of the smaller character moments. I hope they still keep it centered around Hawkins, or at least a general SMALL TOWN feel |

one thing I will say as far as missed opportunities go, is they really could've leaned into their The Thing homage a bit more heavily. Introducing some paranoia as far as which Hawkins residents have been turned could've been good but they really didn't touch that angle at all, everyone was always a known baddie pretty much besides the one scene at the lifeguard's parents' house |

Mannnnnnn. NOT HOPPER. Say it ain't so
First of all, great season. Def better than two and on par with one. Possibly better, hard to say. I agree Cart, the mall and carnival settings were perfect. They nail the 80's vibe every season but this was perhaps the best attempt yet, especially the music
One thing they do so well is spread the love around to all their characters. Everyyyyyyyyone got several moments throughout the season and in the finale. And they all had great endings. Billy's redemption was really good, I was hoping he'd pull a 180. The flashbacks were sad and the shots of him holding the flayer back were really great. Also I had JUST thought to myself that I like Alexei...right before his death. The great little payoff of him winning the looney toons stuffed animal a second before his death was great. Murray was fun this season too
The very ending...v emotional. They brought back the great song from when they found Will's "body" in s1. It was perfect. If Hopper's dead....that's rough, he's too important to the show imo. I think he's in the bunker at the end. THAT'S SO MEAN IF HE ISN'T. Who else could it possibly be really? If it meant nothing at all or if it ends up being someone else we know then that's very cruel of them. I think its gotta be him, I sure hope so anyway. He's the most beloved character on the show probably. And they for SURE would show his death, not just nothing. I think he jumped into the gate before the explosion
Enjoyed the big mall fight, Lucas' fireworks, Steve coming to the rescue by crashing the car, the video store at the end and that kid returning, the Dustin/Suzy duet, the very sad thought of those characters moving away and the end of the Byers house, the Russian Terminator's death, Paul Reiser's return, and ESPECIALLY the Steve/Robin scene(s) in the finale and mostly episode before. That bathroom with those two is def one of my favorites from the series
STEVE SURVIVED. I'm so stoked, when he left the radio hill to go help them I was CONVINCED he was toast
I completely agree Cart, playing up The Thing aspect would've been a ton of fun. I was surprised that they didn't do that, it would've been a whole new angle to mess around with but I guess the season would've been too crowded at that point
I don't remember the last time I binged a show this fast, I usually like to wait and savor it a bit but I really didn't wanna get spoiled. And it was really good, I couldn't stop. Post-credit scene aside this could've been for a pretty good series finale but I'm so glad there's another season. I think it's done after s4 but this is a show that I can always use new seasons of, it's such a fun watch |

If they were gonna have Hopper still be alive why not just...show him? I don't get that decision at all, no matter who "the American" is really. If it's him, it spoiled the eventual reveal cuz EVERYONE thinks it's him. And if it's someone else, people are just gonna be resentful that they got their hopes up for it being Hopper
Pretty convinced it's Hopper though which like I said, would be so weak. Like it's one thing if he somehow escaped the gate exploding, but the scene with Eleven and his letter was so good and a great emotional payoff to their relationship, and bringing him back would completely invalidate that closure. I'm not against the idea of him being still alive, but I am against how they resolved things afterwards if that's the case. Feels CHEAP |

Off screen death = alive 100% of the time.
Unless you're the Mannis |
Overall I really enjoyed this season, was better than S2 at least. | |

I almost thought the same (after the letter it would be lame) but they're probably just trying to make it that much better if/when he's alive (which he totally is). But the letter didn't have the same impact for me because of what I think/thought.
I'd still rather have Bob back. |

Finished season 2 and 3 in a few days.
I shouldn't have watched them back to back since they end up being p similar in structure. But they were really fun to watch and I enjoy a lot of the characters.

Didn't really care much when Hopper died cause he was a huge ass to everyone this season. And I almost got emotional during his letter but then I remembered.. Joyce wrote most of it anyways. So meh. I'm sure they're going to bring him back anyways and ruin that ending for him. I think the aesthetic of the newest season was their best yet. From colors, costumes, and music it was the strongest.
Not the best show out there but it's a lot of fun to watch. 3 was probably my second favorite (behind season one). |

The letter was all him! The ending revealed that he went off Joyce’s script and wrote the rest himself, you only hear a couple of Joyce’s lines at the start. I thought it was p sweet :( |
