Brian wasn't feeling well at all. But he still had a job to do.

People needed him, they relied on him and he didn't want to let them down. He wasn't going to let this illness get in the way of the greater good.

As he prepared for the day's duties, he took a moment to remember those that had already been lost in the fight. Mrs. Cooper, the Catwoman, Mayor Linseed, even Batman himself. As much as he didn't want to accept it, Brian knew his name would soon be added to that list.

But not before he got an important message to someone. He threw his jacket over his arm, grabbed his hat, and picked up his briefcase as he started to make his way to the door.

A lump of coal fell out of his jacket pocket, and as he started for the door, it got underneath his foot. And Brian fell flat on his back. He was adamant that this illness would not end his life, and now a small piece of coal almost did.

He struggled to get up from the floor when someone came in to help him to his feet.

"I must say," Brian started. "It's so good to see you, Ma---"

Then Brian collapsed to the floor.





Later, in Commissioner Gordon's office:

A mysterious box sat on the desk.

Both Gordon and Chief O'Hara wondered what it meant and where it came from.

"No doubt one of those dastardly villains sent this here," O'Hara stated.

"Most definitely," Gordon agreed.

"Think we should open it?" O'Hara asked.

"Could be dangerous. Maybe we should wait until Robin, the Boy Wonder gets here," Gordon suggested.

Just then, a police officer entered the office, with Ari in tow.

"Look who I found sneaking around Police Headquarters!" the officer exclaimed.

"You've got it all wrong," Ari started. "I'm not the bad guy here."

Chief O'Hara walked over to Ari to get a closer look.

"Something about him sure looks familiar," he said.

"Well it's no wonder," Ari replied. "I work for the Gotham City Fire Department."

"Maybe you should let him go," Gordon said. "We can't be keeping good men from doing their duties and we have nothing to hold him on."

"You heard the Commissioner," O'Hara said. "Sorry for the inconvenience."

"It's alright. At least your men are trying to do their job to keep the city safe," Ari said as he headed for the door but he almost bumped into someone making their entrance.

It was Robin. He had arrived to check out the box.

"Sorry I'm late, Commissioner. I was dealing with a situation." he said.

Ari wanted to stick around to see what would happen next, but he exited the building where he ran into an angry mob.

"Look," he said. "I don't want any trouble. I've had kind of a rough day and I'd just like to get home."

"Well," one of them said. "I don't think that's going to happen. We know what you've done. And you need to pay."

"I really have no idea what you're talking about," Ari said as he turned to walk away.

But this mob was not going to let him go so easily. They moved toward him, and Ari took off running. But the mob gave chase.

Ari leapt over a parked police car into the street and into the middle of rush hour traffic.

He didn't even see the bus that hit him.

Your role is…Mafia Goon. Abilities: Passive --- because you are so cunning, you’ve figured out a way to fool people into thinking you’re just an ordinary citizen. You will scan as Town Vanilla. Win Condition: You win if at least one member of your group is alive and all other players are dead (or if nothing can prevent the same). **This is the way the win condition is worded because I found it on some site as a standard mafia win con. I should have just modeled it after the ones that we use here, since that is the intention. Mafia will win if their numbers make up at least 50% of the living players---like it normally it is here. I just wanted to clarify that in case people were reading it another way.

It is now Night 4. Night will end tomorrow at 9:30pm est (to try to move us away from these late deadlines). If all night actions are in, I may be able to start the day early.
