That was insane, love upsets. Italy/England is either gonna be exciting or a snoozefest. I feel like it'll be the latter.

I can't root for England because the number of England fans that still think it's 1966 reminds me of Bears fans that are still mentally in 1985, and that hits too close to home for me. I can't root for Italy because of the racist fans. Can I just root for there to be no bananas thrown onto the field?

Root for it to be like a WWE match.
"BAH GOD! Rooney just went upside Balotelli's head with a chair! ... Wait! ... THAT'S ZLATAN IBRAHIMOVIC'S MUSIC! He's not even supposed to BE at this World Cup! Zlatan with the ferocious elbow drop on Rooney from the crossbar! Mah god Zlatan, that man has a family!"

... Frankly I don't see any way this DOESN'T happen.

Has anyone noticed that the Puma brand goalie shirts have a weird square bullseye pattern on them?

I think this might be to subliminally tell the opposing team that the goalie is a target and should be hit instead of avoided.

The fact that the score is still 0-0 and the dividing of possesion of the ball is so even. Truly shows both teams quality. Since they are such good countrys. I am rooting for England!

Great chip by Balotelli. Better stop by Jagielka. Thrilling sequence overall.

Yeah Balotelli can really make those shots count. He just needs space and can do wonders. Great first half.

Fantastic first half. Italy seems like they're constantly on the verge of breaking through, but England are making better use of their chances. It really could go either way in the second half.

What the hell happened to Rooney? He was like ok and cheery and shit after England scored and then had a serious injury all the sudden.

The best players on the pitch have been Welbeck, Sturridge, Sterling, and Balotelli.

I'm sure racist Italian fans are absolutely fuming.
