Why wouldn't third party want to know about roles?

Well what third party are you thinking of? Vernon's role is dead. Probably an SK somewhere but I doubt a SK would be added for similar reasoning as to why a mafia member wouldn't be. That leaves non-killing third parties who would be less phased by town roles.

I am interested in Greendays response to this.

If someone is third party they would still have reasons to want roles ousted. Most need to maintain a balance between scum and town so the numbers work in their favor when they are the only threat left. Cult leaders would want to know who isn't mafia to recruit safely. Survivors are the only type that wouldn't have a lot of interest in ousting, but if they don't scan as town they would still have reason to want a cop to lose their head.

I'm not saying it's a solid case. I haven't cast a lynch for a reason. I just think it's silly to jump through the logical hoops of Joined late->Probably not mafia, could be third party->Third party wouldn't want to know roles->no reason to lynch and dismiss the idea entirely based on one piece of metagaming. There's no one else really standing out to me right now, so I'm focusing on this because it's the only lead I'm really seeing. I would rather base a lynch on someone's actions and be wrong than scrap the idea, lynch randomly and be wrong with no further information gained.

How else would I "respond" to all these theories about what I could or couldn't be? I already gave my piece about the balance of the game w/r/t numbers so what else is there for me to contribute on that? ¯\(º_0)/¯

Exactly what do you want me to respond to that I HAVEN'T already mentioned earlier in the thread?

Well Cult Leaders are unlikely given Vernon's role, as I said.

I am not saying he would have no interest but it kinda seems a bit of an elaborate plan of Greendays you are suggesting. I think he just wanted to see if anyone had information.

That's what I've been trying to say Kiwi! We had no leads at ALL up to that point. It was like we were still on day 1. That is literally ALL I was trying to do, get some information that could help us find scum because at that point, which iirc was already halfway through the day, we still had NOTHING.

Yeah but its still pretty scummy.

Ousting roles isnt the best way to get information, though. Like I said, it's scummy at worst, lazy at best.

We don't have much time left, guys.

Do you have any suggestions on what we should have done then or are you just going to criticize me?
