Reigns. It's a mobile game (but it's on steam too). You play as the king of a generic medieval kingdom and you have to swipe left or right to respond to your advisors. That's it. Simple controls but surprisingly deep!

Every decision you make affects the way the kingdom views you. You have up balance out the treasury, the common people, the military and the church. If your approval with any of them falls too low, is game over. AND I'VE LEARNED THE HARD WAY if your favor with any elements goes too high, it's also game over.

However, it's only game over for your king, and you begin the story of the next King after that.

Mysterious advisors, conspirators, bastard sons, basically Qyburn, werewolves, and a deal with the devil that started it all. It's pretty fascinating for a phone game with the mechanics of tinder

I died of old age in Reigns! I feel ACCOMPLISHED.

There's this little romance you can start with this woman in your court, but you have to duel her first. I discovered that it you actually win the duel she gets pissed at you and calls you a pig. Or maybe it's because I sliced her up while she was presenting me flowers. Idk

I finished Reigns tonight. Did not get the good ending! I TRIED!

I'm replaying since there was a lot I didn't really get at first. Again, for a game thats just a series or yes or no statements its SURPRISINGLY DEEP. Well worth the $3!

Replaying now I just noticed an achievement I didn't the first time. Your court jester comes up to you and tells you you're governing like a loser and everyone is bored. He suggests we start doing more exciting things like explosions and names himself the Chief Official of Entertainment. If you agree to let him, you get the achievement "The Trump: Govern Like A Winner"

And then he starts blowing random buildings up.

Has anyone played Pillars of Eternity? It's on sale and it's by the people who made Fallout New Vegas which I really like, but I've never been a huge isometric RPG person though.

Just got the new Doom and my god it's good, my adrenaline is pumping, haven't felt this alive in forever.

Pillars of eternity is great! However if you're not a fan of isometric RPGs... Probably wouldn't recommend since that's exactly what it is and doesn't even begin to go into a different genre.

I'm gonna impulse buy Black Desert Online since it's only $10 right now (it's on sale until the 26th) and justify it by reminding myself that I've spent more on other games. I get 3 guest passes, so if anyone wants to try it too, let me know!

It's a bit silly though since RNG was ridiculously on my side. It threw the best (non-cursed, upgraded, enchanted) weapon and armor at me in the first 3 levels, then after that gave me endless wands and rings. I was also swimming in other useful items I didn't even need to use until the end because my ring of evasion was so OP.

Only stroke of bad luck was during the final stages my luck in finding upgrade scrolls ran out entirely and my battleaxe busted within the first few turns of the final boss. It didn't hurt too much though

I have an idea

Mad Game Tycoon, which is a shameless rip off of Gave Dev Tycoon but way better. GDT ran like a mobile app, MGT actually plays like a PC game. It really reminds me of Theme Hospital. Being able to actually build your game studio, which you couldn't do at all in the latter, is really fun. Just wish managing your staff was more manageable. Like when you have to relocate to a bigger office, you have a re-assign everyone to their department which is a pain in the ass especially when you have over 100 people working for you.

Cities Skylines, which I've been wanting for a while. Having a lot of fun with that one. Took me a while to get the hang of it and went bankrupt three times in a row pretty quick, but I've found some success making my tropical city.

And somewhat The Escapists (Thanks Rose (: ), though only bits and pieces as I've been immersed with the previous two. It's not at all what I expected it to be, and that's a good thing. It's kind of like Hardtime done right.

Reigns is pretty fun and winning is challenging. Plague INC is probably less suited for quick bursts but it's an upgraded mobile version of pandemic ii and pretty fun.

I want more Hardtime LPs
