An American Hippie in Israel - so bizarre. It's filled with endless scenes of hippies partying (until eventually they get shot, causing the survivors to escape on a road trip and party some more) and there's these nightmare sequences of the main character fighting robots while in reality they are being pursued by white-faced devils. Eventually it becomes a Lord of the Flies scenario that feels totally unjustified. It was really fun to watch tho

Before I Disappear

It felt like a paint by numbers independent flick for the most part, and the subplot with Ron Perlman could have used some more time devoted to it. Other than that it entertained me and fulfilled its role as a 5 AM Netflix pick, so I have to give it that much. Ron Perlman should be in every movie.

They Came Together- 7/10

I have such mixed feelings about this movie. Cast is like a 'who's who' of comedy and I honestly haven't laughed this loud in a very long time. But, Jesus, was it a hot mess. It's just a bunch of gags laced together and I just had fatigue of it after the first hour. Better watched in thirds I guess.

Synecdoche, New York

Really gets better every time you watch. Can't get enough of this scene in particular:

perfect delivery. Too bad both of them are gone now :(

American Splendor

I was expecting it to be a lot more lively than it was after the intro, but it was more depressing than anything. Interesting story though. It was kinda more of a good documentary than a good movie

The Traveler

Saw this on Netflix and checked it out. This movie... was so bad. It thought it was clever as fuck and I bet Val Kilmer thought he was giving the menacing performance of a lifetime but it was just horrible. He also wears the worst wig I've ever seen in flashback scenes - it looks like the head of a mop. It came very close to so bad it's good territory without successfully crossing the line.

Really liked this, dunno why or how I avoided it for so long. Interesting to see there are like five different endings. I liked the one that ended the copy of the movie I watched the best, with the funeral scene.

Cloud Atlas

One of a kind. Wish there'd be more movies like that.

Inside Out

Really good, really affecting, even devastating in parts. Even though you expect that with Pixar, they also do a great job of making it funny and engaging for most of its run. I think Michael Giacchino was the highlight.
